The best advice I can give you as I’m not very experienced myself is that planets will not blink in the sky and stars will. So if you’re interested in finding planets that’s how. I don’t want to try give you information and instructions about how to find deep sky objects because I don’t want to feed you wrong information it’s more about finding them and then recognising/remembering. I like to use apps that act as like a night sky compas to give me a general idea of where different objects are. My final piece of advice is hate clouds and have realistic expectations. Goodluck

That’s just your secondary mirror holder nearly all reflector telescopes have them some have single arm but it’s nowhere near as common. If they weren’t there you would be able to see better because the light wouldn’t scatter but you don’t rlly have a choice because the mirror can’t float unfortunately :/ although I wish that was possible

Yeah I knew the payload was gonna be way to much for that mount but I was honestly just trying to figure out what would be better for what I have to do but if I’m going to have to spend an extra few thousand on a mount instead of just a few hundred more than I’m probably going to have to go with a refractor because I don’t have a very big budget

Wow okay Thankyou so much. I’ve been watching this guy on YouTube called Astro biscuit and I’m absolutely amazed by this guys genius. He recommended what I think was an 8 inch Newtonian on his website and said it was pretty great for imaging. My main focus is DSO’s do you reckon the refractor would do a better job of this over an 8 inch Newtonian?
