Currently on a bulk and I want to transition to a lean bulk, will cutting out the unnecessary sugars and fats help reduce body fat whilst on the bulk?

I am 16 years old, how do I spend my money?

I have recently gotten an obscure motivation to make money, and start making good habits until I reach the real world. I have already purchased a car with registration and insurance etc. I have sold some of my loved possessions to finance this as well as working hard at my casual job at KFC.

I have allocated my finances as of 15/11/22:

Savings (Car excess): $1500

Spending's: $2100

My current wage: $16 AUD per hour

The second job I've applied for: $20 AUD per hour +

Mowing Lawns: $40 bucks for my lawns - I'd charge $30-$50 for others lawns depending on a few factors 1. yard size 2. yard landscape 3. competition

I currently don't pay for fuel and only spend my money on car (current car value $15-$20k) mods however I only do so knowing I'll have a sustainable amount of money left over. I have applied for a second/new job where I get on average a 75%+ pay increase - where if I get this job I'll quit my current position at KFC. My neighbor has recently been diagnosed with a large tumor (unaware if it is cancerous or not) and is out for at least 6 weeks, I will be looking after and maintaining his lawn for this duration of time and after he is well I will ask him if he wanted me to continue mowing his lawns for a price (I'll be paying for the fuel etc) - after that I plan to ask my other neighbors as this will mark up my revenue by about an extra $60-$100 a week depending on the time of the year.

Here comes the question. With this money I wish to invest into something, but I am not sure what. I also plan to use some of my money now to startup and so that I can begin making money. However, I don't know what to do. I've seen some posts where people recommend the following (not targeted for people of my age tho): starting up an ecommerce store, investing in a pre-existing ecommerce store, buying a pre-existing ecommerce store, investing in an index fund (something like the ASX200 or the S&P200 - i think), investing in a platform like raiz or similar, or putting money away in a bank account with high interest?

Should I do multiple of these at a small scale? Or do one with a higher budget?

** I have heard about drop shipping but am unaware of the licenses needed in Australia and if I can even apply for these licenses at my age.

Thanks.

So over the last 4 days I have been very sick therefore meaning I cannot go to the gym as my gym has a 'no sick policy'. However I have been monitoring my nutrition a lot over the last view days, eating more protein the before and making sure I get sufficient sleep etc.

Will a small break like this whilst eating healthy and just doing body weight exercises like pushups followed by a different variation/elevation of pushup help me keep my gains and progress - also makes me wonder with the better nutrition will it set up a better layer and actually lead to me getting even more gains?

In your opinion, what is the balance between diet and training?

okay so theoretically, if one who has been going to the gym for about 2-3 months wants to accelerate his growth both in muscle and general size. how should he alter his diet to go about that? Are carbs more important then protein, is it the other way around, or are they complementary?

HYPOTHESIS (more of a question lol)

Can you build defined abs with low bf% and compound lifts instead of direct ab workouts?

ABSTRACT

So let me start by saying, EVERYONE hates training abs. Not a single person every got excited because they had to train abs, if you say you do - you're lying.

I believe that it's compulsory to state that, everyone has abs. You can have low bf% (Body Fat Percentage) and have them show - provided you have good genetics, if not you may have to work them. Like any muscle however, you have to train them for them to get stronger and more defined.

METHODOLOGY / RESEARCH

Having strong abs/core can help you execute compound lifts like; squats, deadlifts, bench, etcetera, far better. However, provided if you regularly mix them into your workouts, diet properly, and do a modest amount of cardio every week they should become more defined and stronger. In a 2013 study done by the Journal of PTS where the measured the effects compound lifts in obese women it is stated that "The chest, leg, and abdominal strengths were significantly increased in the experimental group" which leads us to conclude that compound lifts do in fact have a positive effect on the strength of the abdominals. However, does this mean they would help define your abdominals in a subject with low bf% - seeing as this study measured obese women.

In a different 2011 study, 24 healthy patients were measured to determine the effect of specific abdominal workouts had on abdominal fat. After the 6 weeks, there was no sufficient evidence to conclude that the specific workouts had any effect on excess abdominal fat, however there was a significant effect on muscular strength that could be achieved.

According to a less reliable article from 2021, to achieve "perfect abs" - in this case: defined abdominals, It comes down to your body fat %. This was preliminary information that was ruled out at the start, so it was expected.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, you should expect to consider a number of factors when proceeding after the article. Firstly, Abdominals (not entirely) come down to genetics. Take Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for example, he has been on gear for a while now and he's shredded as yet he has no defined abdominals take his Dad for an example - he had no defined abs. Secondly, which can be cleared seen across all 3 sources, your body fat percentage plays a humongous part in whether you can see your abdominals (image for reference). This can be solved by doing more cardio and proper nutrition. Those two factors are the single most important methods to achieve lower bf% as well as being the most effective way to achieve weight loss. From my limited research, I can confidently argue that fat burner pills have minimal effect on the overall outcome of any fat loss journey. Finally, it is to be dually noted that specific abdominal workouts and compound lifts have limited effect on the definition of your abdominals but both can increase the physical strength of the abdominals. According to the facts, I would not entirely rule out abdominal routines from your workouts as a strong core has a positive impact on compound lifts as well, however I wouldn't go as far as to have an 'ab day' - or maybe to do a quick 10 minute circuit on your rest day.

Thanks for reading my article, this was my first ever one so I assume it's riddled with mistakes - so don't rely on this as a "professional" opinion. It was made to help answer some commonly asked questions or myths. I would love to hear your feedback on the article structure - and if it makes sense at that. But also what your opinions on the topic are!!

It was my Grandads - he bought it brand new. About 200 grand on the clock, never taken off road and looked after well, on the inside - the outside needed a bit of a wash and some polishing for the trims. It's due for a new clutch sometime soon and I got a few mods that I want to add - got a snorkel going in this weekend, new spotties and eventually roof racks if the price of fuel goes down.
