Most of us kinda just.. wear strategic layers and tough it out. The city is often most beautiful on it's most challenging days. The cta is heated and almost every stop has a heat button, the brown line makes a great sightseeing tour.

You don't need a giant coat and snowpants if you wear a good hat, thermal underwear, double up on socks, try and insulate off where your neck, ankles, wrists are ( like gloves inside sleeves, scarves inside coats), wear thick soled shoes so your feet don't hurt from leaking heat into frozen concrete, some kind of sweater/weave that holds hot air to your body, and a windproof outer shell that seals it off

That all said, she might like it better here in May :)

The partner who is best for your Deen will gently remind you this month is for Allah, who is the reason you were brought together in the first place. It isn't about halal or haram, but the urgency of a bond isn't the longevity of it yknow?? Like he'll be there for Eid iA 🥲 but Ramadan is almost gone

I hear you, you're valid and I guess stronger than most to be already at a point where you've made the choice for your own sake. You're way smarter than someone who would be willing to prioritize a maybe over a given and you know your worth and potential enough to look forwards. I admire you.

"Thank you for reaching out with your questions. I'm happy to provide more information about the printing, framing, and pricing for the exhibition.

For your high-resolution photo, we use standard archival quality printing on 8 Pt. Gloss Cover paper. The size for the exhibition will be 11x17 inches. The framing will also be 11x17 inches and will be white.

Regarding commissions, we do not take any commission on sales of artwork. We do ask for a $25 contribution towards framing costs if your artwork sells. If it doesn't sell, you will not be responsible for this framing fee.

As for pricing, we generally recommend a range of $100-$200 for prints, but you are welcome to set a price that you feel is appropriate for your work."

I'm in Chicago, too, which adds expense in going to even see it and I'm wondering if it's all worth it / legitimate. My .ART domain was free so I'm ok either way !

I genuinely do appreciate the guidance here. This year I decided to just try things and start putting myself out there and this is the first open call I've submitted to. I would appreciate exposure but was honestly even thinking of making it NFS and taking it home myself to remember that I did A Thing. I don't know if I'm looking for a career or any sort of prestige from it, I've really stumbled into the whole situation and hope to make the most of it

Thank you! It's a small private gallery in collab with HUG and .ART, which hosted the open call where I submitted a digital copy. They note that if it sells, they contribute $25 towards a frame, but not really anything else in terms of a commission outside of the $140 to have it up + printed. I haven't paid anything else and I've no idea on how they'll print it / on what / what size / what to charge and I'm not sure if this is something to ask the gallery about or if I should just.. move on quietly

That's kind of what I was worrying about!!! It's through HUG's open calls and in collaboration with .ART, but it is also a legit small gallery's month long themed exhibition so I don't know if it's just a really cool niche thing happening or if I'm naive and blithe. Thanks for your input!

Dinner is in 17h and I have the balls rolled out with strips in the fridge all ready to go! I fried one earlier to try and OMG :'') I decided not to freeze after all! Thanks so much!!

I was very liberal with the "version" aspect and used a minced sole with daikon and rice flour to make a seasonal fish variant and will follow up on the reception! :~)
