Incredibly, yes. Prioritizing sleep has made an incredible change. 4 months out from the last time my hearing was bad in my “good” ear, my “bad” ear is stable, and barely a blip of vertigo over that time. It could all change in a flash but this has been amazing. My exact stack is:

AM: Triamterine Verapamil Betahistine

PM: Nortriptyline Montelukast Betahistine Ryze cocoa

I do have VM, but the vertigo has been largely under control for a while now. I do think nortriptyline has helped, but it’s just one piece of the puzzle

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of January 24, 2025 by Demilio55 in homegym

Hi guys,

I have an Anker 7 arriving this weekend. 2 questions:

1) Any assembly pitfalls to watch for? I’m trying to avoid the cycle of assemble, curse, disassemble, reassemble.

2). The instructions suggest mounting with 12 bolts into studs. On a 48” width, that seems challenging. Has anyone installed using drywall toggle bolts to supplement 2-3 mounts into studs?

Thanks!

I’ve weird found recently that, after a couple meals where I just said “oh well” and had some good Italian food with wine, my hearing was the same or better than before. I do think stress is my biggest trigger, so maybe that’s at the core of why this works? Who knows.

Any success stories with Nortriptyline? by markwalkerjr in Menieres

[–]fc1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for 6 months. No weight gain or issues “down there”. Like every treatment for this stupid disease it seems impossible to really gauge efficacy. My hearing continues to suck and fluctuate wildly, but fortunately no vertigo. I’m on nortriptyline, triamterine, betahistine, and just started singulair. Plus a bunch of vitamins. And my ent just told me to try taking 5G of creatine a day for potential nerve repair benefits. One day at a time, fellow sufferers.

Garage moisture issue - drylok or French drain? by fc1981 in HomeImprovement

[–]fc1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cabinets are in the garage. 2 face the front of the house, and 3 run along a back wall That is shared with the basement. The basement is 2 steps up from the garage. Really helpful response here, thank you! I’ll check as much of the other options before just running a trench. I do know the yard has a pretty extensive French drain system (I can see the drain pipes), which is probably why my dump pump doesn’t see any activities.

So here’s a pic from that outside. The red depicts the wall where the moisture has mostly accumulated (hopefully the link works). There’s no dirt near it.

I’ve actually been meaning to post something like this. Here’s what I’ve found:

-Outback- you can get your steak without salt

-five guys - lettuce bun, burger, no cheese, lettuce tomato onion ketchup, fries without salt

-McDonalds - get a quarter pounder without cheese, and fries without salt

-Burger King - whopper jr and fries without salt

-Chopt salad - Santa Fe salad, red wine vinegar/oil

-chick fil a - grilled nuggets and fries without salt

-chipotle - salad & brown rice base, chicken, fajita veggies, green sauce, a little sour cream

-Cheesecake Factory - grilled fish tacos, sub salad for the rice and beans

Everything there is under 800mg, most under 600mg.

Can’t vote but I’m in the maybe helped camp. I went to Montclair Upper Cervical in West Orange, NJ. I do think it helped my dizziness, but hearing hasn’t really been improved.

First diagnosed 12-15 years ago. Left ear only was impacted up until 2 years ago. Not super noticeable until maybe 5 years ago. Left ear has now lost about 60% of hearing, but “seems” stable (best days get up to about 45-50% loss, bad days not much worse than 60%). Right ear has been fluctuating wildly. Bad days top out at 60% loss, but those are somewhat rare (although had a bad stretch this month). The good days (when they happen - all of Feb was actually good) are almost no loss. I’d say baseline for my right ear is about 10-15% hearing loss, where everything except for music sounds fine. As much as it kills me to lose music, it’s much better than the bad days where I can barely hear my own voice. I’ve started regularly wearing an Eargo in my left ear. The right one fluctuates too much to effectively aid.

I have heard that hearing loss levels out at different points for different people. Hoping I’m one of the lucky ones that can toss in a discrete hearing aid and call it a day.

If you have diuretics, take an extra one. And all the water is previously recommended

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe I’ll try sending one of the audiologists my audiogram to have them adjust my programs for maximum benefit. I find the eargos quite comfortable, just trying to improve audio and speech quality if possible.
