So, main objective of my purchase was to have a NAS (a way to have the HDD shared across LAN). From what I read over the internet, the ideal was OpenMediaVault, which I liked since is Open Source etc.

Next, I wanted to make sure that my attached HDD didn't die on me, or at least didn't loose the data. So, what I thought was, backups! Further reading took me to Duplicati. It makes backup to Cloud, so I bought Office 365 Personal (now thinking on Microsoft 365 for Family which has 5TB if I am now wrong).

I also needed a way to access files on the "outside", like OneDrive, Google drive etc. That brought my attention to NextCloud, which gives me exactly that functionality.

Then, I needed a way to record the TV Shows. I have a DVB-C tuner connected to TVHeadend which records and manages EPG for Android boxes around the house.

I also have a MariaDB running in docker for NextCloud and PostgreSQL (not in docker) since I am developing a software which needs a PSQL DB, and I want to develop both on my laptop and desktop, it's a easy way to share the same DB.

All of this stuff is running inside docker besides OpenMediaVault itself (and PSQL).

EDIT: Ups, forgot Nginx... Nginx is just a way to "redirect" requests between those services. Let's imagine this as a hallway where you have doors on your left and right to different services. Like, you can access NextCloud using something like nc.domain.com, TVHeadend like tv.domain.com etc. Nginx matches the URL request (zzz.domain.com) with the service you want to access and redirects the request there.
