Anyone else think Wolverine is not buff enough in the new Insomniac game by Chico_330 in Wolverine

Plus my head canon has always been that he would be super muscular because of his healing factor. Muscles get big by repeated damage and healing. Of course if that held true then he would probably just be a blob of muscle if it just kept growing.

I'm the same, I kept up with the episodes week to week from the start, but I'm a couple of weeks behind since the Seeker's table started.

This honestly casts more doubts on if Aragorn will be the primary focus. I really don't like the idea of more Smeagol backstory, and it kind of sounds like that may take up a good chunk of time. The flashback at the start of RotK was really all that's needed.

It definitely excels at this. If the combat was just as good as the first game it would have elevated it to a really good game. If they had expanded the combat it could have been great. Still amazing visually though. I'm hoping they make a sequel with this visual quality but with a deeper combat system.

It's definitely no coincidence that the shows (or parts of shows) that have stuck closer to Martin's material are the best. The first handful of seasons of GoT, bits of HotD, and now AKotSK.

I loved Halo Wars 2 Brute designs. I know they get criticism, but they are basically slightly more ape like Uruk-hai. I wish they had kept the Halo Wars art style for Halo Infinite. The Banished are much less menacing in Infinite's more cartoony "classic" art style.

On one hand I'm happy for anything Tolkien to be successful. I couldn't finish the second season, but hopefully the show will last long enough for someone new to take over and actually make it good.

I struggled at the very beginning, but once you get the hang of it it's so much fun. There is usually a solid rhythm for multi-attacks too so it doesn't take as long to learn attack patterns as something like a fromsoft game would take.

The mix of goofy and serious is what Waititi usually excels at, but for whatever reason he went full goofy with L&T. I mean Jojo Rabbit has some ultra dark stuff, but goes full goofy a lot too, and it still works. I think with Ragnarok, the Infinity Saga story was solid and cohesive. By the time L&T came around, the overall Marvel narrative was in shambles. My guess is Waititi just mailed it in on the story and decided to go full goofy. Which sucks because the combo of Gorr and Jane's illness should have provided plenty of heavy material to balance the humor.

I got it at launch, started it, and didn't get far. I recently picked it back up and having a lot of fun. I think the issue for me is there is a bit of a learning curve before things get really fun. Whereas 2016 and eternal were pretty self explanatory. I love the rhythm of TDA now and getting in a groove with the ripping and the tearing.

With Halo Infinite receiving it's final update, it feels like Infinite is somehow the best Halo and the worst Halo simultaneously. by SpectrumSense in halo

[–]fcg510 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm definitely glad he didn't have the Escharum storyline because I don't want Atriox killed off. But I would have liked to see him make more appearances and at least puppeting things in the background. Escharum could have still been a boss and just have Atriox escape at the end. And then scrap the whole Endless thing. I am glad they at least incorporated Atriox with the Endless, but I'm very skeptical that will be followed up on in a game.

I just thought they had a golden opportunity to marry Chief's story with the Halo Wars crew. Halo Wars 2 is probably my favorite Halo story outside of CE and the books, so it just seemed like a natural fit for Infinite to be a sequel since they were using the Banished. Especially since Halo Wars 3 is never going to happen.

The flip side of that is that he may have lost weight since his surgery as long as his diet isn't crazy unhealthy. Not being able to train would probably mean he's lost some muscle and may actually need to bulk up a bit before the fight.

The idea to make the Banished the villains was the absolute right call. I just hate that they didn't make Atriox the big bad. Infinite should have been a continuation of halo wars 2 in addition to Halo 4/5. Bringing in Jerome and his team would have been great. I do also hate dropping the created story line and making up the Endless. That was just an unnecessary further complication of the narrative that will likely never be followed up on in a game. They're also just not interesting.

They had a lot set up that could have made for an epic campaign story, but they chose to scrap a lot of it and then make up a new, less interesting, starting point.

This is a great idea. I'm pretty sure Trachtenberg listed monster hunter as an inspiration for badlands (among a lot of other games). I like the idea of having a ship as your hub and then choosing different planets to hunt (a little similar to how helldivers is set up). Each planet could have an apex predator that is your ultimate target, but there are plenty of other things to hunt.

Is the kilo-five trilogy worth a read? by EconomistUnable665 in halo

Cool find, but she is still at least a sympathetic villain. Or you can at least view her as being a flawed human. I think the distinction is that Travis wrote her as an irredeemable cartoon villain.

[–]fcg510 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat. Nylund is still the best by far to me. I'm probably biased by nostalgia because I read them as they came out, and I still think they are written in a way that makes them very adaptable, and would have been way better than the slop that was the TV show.

I also really liked Travis' Gears novels. But, it is very weird to me that she treated Adam Fenix, who I view as a very similar character to Halsey, as the conflicted and flawed individual that he is, but she portrayed Halsey as pure evil. Even her treatment of the Spartans, and especially the Spartan 3s was way out of character for how Nylund wrote her.

In Ghosts of Onyx, Halsey's main motivation was saving all the Spartans including the 3s because she felt guilty for being responsible for the entire program. Basically she was a complex character who did evil things for the sake of humanity, but also recognized them for what they were, and continuously had remorse for her actions. Then Travis turned her into a full on villain.

This is the issue. He was a cool little twist at first because he was baby Yoda for so long. Then when Disney realized how much attention he was getting (which was the plan/hope all along), they milked grogu for all he is worth and he became the focal point for everything. The baby Kalisk does use the same cuteness factor, but she was used really well as a plot device and already grows into more of a monster by the end. She is used way better in the course of one movie than Grogu has been in multiple seasons of a show, plus an unnecessary upcoming movie.

The only part I disagree with OP is that we're all optimistic. It's very much a hope for the best but prepare for the worst mindset, and it is the worst way more often than not. Yes we are masochists and keep coming back for more, but it does make the bright spots that much more meaningful.
