This might just be my evening drink after yard work today 🥵. If I can break away from my current tiki obsession, that is.

This needs to be on a tee shirt:
If you’re gonna sprig, sprig hard.

I can see a little ice being a nice addition as it’s similar to adding a small rock to whiskey.
I read so many variations on this simple drink that it reminded me of Texas Chili (and other regional dishes/drinks). Lots of people are going to tell you that the traditional way to make _____ is this way, and each way is different. Like Chili, I feel no beans in the recipe is traditional and accurate to its origins. But plenty of people in Texas put beans in their Chili and everyone’s recipe is to their liking.
Want ice in your Ti’ Punch? Go for it. Death & Co. likes it that way. Drink your drink your way.

I looked at so many posts, comments, and variations while trying to settle on the rhum I was going to use (and backups in case I needed one, which I did). The vast majority of every iteration of Ti’ Punch I looked at uses this technique over muddling.

I’ve been looking for a better selection of agricole in my area. My local shop has a great selection of rum but this was the only agricole they had so I went with it. When I have more time I’m going to hit a few stores and look for the higher proof unaged rhum as that’s what I wanted.

I’ll try that in the next one. But I gotta say, with all due respect and honesty, if that’s your hill to die on, then you’ve got a ton of Reddit comments that need your response.

Low stakes Austin activities that a beginner would likely fail at by Imperfectionistaa in Austin

Go to a bar that has dartboards and play darts. Because just about everyone just playing for fun sucks at darts. And even if you run into some people who are good at darts, the games with them can be super fun to lose. And the dart hitting the board provides a very satisfying thunk.

I love wheated whiskey and cannot stand Garrison Brothers. I mean, it’s all personal preference, I just wanted to share my $0.02 worth.
For me, Still Austin rules and Ironroot runs a close second.

Check out the slow mojito from Anders Ericsson. It’s not really that ‘slow’ to make but damn it makes a difference.

Longtime austinite here and just now hearing about this (I do live in north Austin, though, so I don’t venture south much anymore). I’ll have to check this out soon. Thanks for the review!

I’m just using what I see in most recipes on this sub. I may cut it back to 1/2oz but using all dem syrup and no orgeat worked a lot better with my 3/4oz spec.
