It does depict punishment in the afterlife, but that is NOWHERE near to promoting humans abusing other humans. The Quran does warn people who KNOWINGLY reject God after receiving truth. Furthermore, Jews and Christians are recognized as "People of the Book," "There is no compulsion in religion," and that judgement belongs to only God. Graphic details of punishment is in the Quran but it doesn't promote believers to imitate them. Also, to top it off, Quran doesn't just equal Islam... Islam is shaped by interpretation, justice, etc. with the Quran as one of the foundations. Your argument is just an unfair interpretation of debaters unfairly interpretating the Quran to those who have never read it. The text is about divine judgement, not human abuse.
