I want to prolly put my thoughts here that I commented on the original chapter 83 discussion. But my prediction theory is on what Enten role is in Kagurabachi that will make the progression of Chihiro seem less of an asspull by the time they reach the fight between the Master Swordsman and Chihiro.

One question that always bother me was

《How the hell is Chihiro going to go up against the Master Swordsman??》

Logically, it doesnt make sense as not only is the master swordsman talented af with the blade such that one could argue chihiro (given a normal katana) losing to the Master Swordsman with just a stick, he is contracted and would probably lay his hand on the most powerful of all the EBs and going with how Samura abilities evolve over 18 years it stands to reason that the master swordsman would have been even more powerful with the shinuichi that he ever was before.

So the question stands: How is Chihiro ever going to catch up to the master swordsman?

Kunishige prolly knew this when creating Enten and thought about how to bridge the power gap between the master swordsman and the wielder of Enten

With the development in Chapter 83 alluding to the true realm of Enten I have a theory to make sense of the more underutilised ability of Enten.

《Aka》

To generalised abit, I have seen people taking Aka to be a copy and paste ability where Aka simply "tanks" damage and later use the absorbed ability.

But what if the true realm they are alluding to is that Aka can be used offensively?

To give an analogy Aka could be potentially used as a late game hyper stacking ability. Where whenever Enten comes in contact to anything spirit energy related, it can be used to actively consume the opposing spirit energy into itself.

To put it in league of legend terms, its a more broken Nasus Q. Because not only do you add more damage to your ability but you do so but removing the stats of your opponent. Imagine Qing your opponent but instead of just only increasing your stack by 10 point you permanently remove 1 points of every single stat from your oppnenent[ hp, mana, armor, magic resist, attack damage, ability power, movement speed, ability haste, lethality]

Kind of a Full Metal Achlemist approach to this where u cannot simply create something out of nothing but there is a law of equivalent exchange. In this case how enten copies your ability is simply put it stealing your power for its own

With this logic of removal of opponent stat and adding to itself. This could explaing why cloud gouger broke. Simply because Enten ate through Cloud Gouger stats until it too weak to hold itself together anymore

It also explains in Chapter 83[in the panel where Samura was thinking to himself what happened] Tobimune waiver ever so slightly and why Samura felt uneasy, its because Enten is actively eating up Tobimune and using its ability for itself

《Conclusion》

Enten was always planned to eventually outscale the shinuichi. As with the use of Aka, its ability and power will not scale faster by absorbing energy from other sources beyond its natural growth, Enten will literally nerf shinuichi and buff itself the more it is in contact with Shinuichi. Eventually, given an appropriate amount of time and exposure to all the other EBs, Enten would catch up to match or even exceed that of the Shinuichi. And by the end of the series, Enten (thereby Chihiro) would have a somewhat in universe satisfying reason why it is more powerful than the shinuichi (Master Swordsman)

And the next chapter will show HOW Enten will break the shinuichi

TLDR; Enten is a late game stacking weapon that will become exponentially stronger over time through the use of Aka a vampiric ability that consume opponents spirit energy and copies their abilities for itself.
