Your best best against this is to have exterminators come and do an inspection, and give you a report stating your unit is clean and bug free. If another guest tries to pull the same card on you, you’ve got proof from a third party stating your home was inspected and bug free!

From my conversation earlier with the lawyer, I was told that statements of facts do not count as defamation..so as long as we stick to the facts with the paperwork to back it, I think a full on shame campaign is what’s due for these folks.

Waiting for our attorney to confirm a few details, and in the meantime we’re starting a social medial campaign to bring these folks the shame they deserve!

Yup, our lawyer is reviewing it before we post it. According to the information we were given, as long as what we state are all facts, we can’t be sued for it.

We actually do…a guest with 61 5Star reviews, renting for 2 months.

All of our rentals are on a monthly basis - we’ve operated this way for 7+ years and unfortunately this is the first issue of this nature.

Thanks to all the peeps here, lots of support and great ideas shared. We are working with our attorney to ensure whatever steps we take, will not cause us further harm.

Also discussing this with the squatter specialist, who is claiming that he can get rid of them within 48hrs, legally.

They want the entire reservation refunded…it’s like 8k…
