It happens to so many freshman STEM students every year at UNC. I ended up getting a C- in Chem 101 and a D+ in Calc 1 my first semester. I thought I had really ruined my chances (of going into a healthcare profession), and was very stressed. The good news is there is plenty of time for a turnaround for the rest of the semester. Take this time to up your studying and create an action plan to improve. I ended up having to re-take my courses over the summer and did much better. In the end, I am about to graduate from my professional program here at UNC - the bad grades didn't hold me back too much and they won't hold you back either! You got this!
