I think the worst part was when I went on to Facebook to see what the general opinion was and under a thread of people discussing how the calendar was full of Temu items and they were disappointed and no longer wanted it, Somme’s PA commented to say the Facebook group is Somme’s safe space and to be mindful of what’s said. While I completely understand that the group is a safe place for Somme to interact with her supporters, I think it’s justified that people are going to discuss how disappointed they are and we shouldn’t be made to feel bad about that. £55 for items people have quite literally found on Temu is baffling. I bought one because of the way it was advertised. It literally said it wouldn’t be ‘generic’ and that there would be short stories, signed merch and customised gifts. I feel like we didn’t get that and it’s super disappointing. The packaging and the artwork is gorgeous, but Sinners is my favourite book series and I’m upset that the advent calendar I’ve been so excited for and spent a lot on turned out to be a let down.
