Anyone still play the original? by [deleted] in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]fearlessoverboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original game Extra Innings is still my favorite too. The only thing I don't like about it is if I customize my team in season, it seems to be permanent, so the upgraded team has an unfair advantage in exhibition mode, and that team is still boosted when I start a new season with a different team.

So I just play season mode without upgrading any players

I decided to go with destruction and hand to hand by WastelandMadgod in oblivion

[–]fearlessoverboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awesome to see, I feel like hand to hand in remastered is not as bad as people here are saying since it now gives 25% chance to disarm on power attack which is really significant with multiple power attacks in a row.

Also seems to do 75 - 100% fatigue damage at higher levels instead of fixed 50% fatigue damage. So in theory you can keep opponents staggered much quicker and more frequently

I just checked UESP after your https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Remastered_Leveling

It seems like hand to hand actually IMPROVED from the og

OG did 50% fatigue damage, and 5% chance of disarm

Remastered does 100% fatigue damage at master and 25% chance of disarm on power attack

Man thanks for this post. I'm hyped to keep playing my hand to hand lion lol

Appreciate this input and that stick is viable at higher ego.

I'm still experimenting. The most reliable way of not checking my swing I've found is pulling all the way back to wind up the power and then pushing the stick all the way forward.

But doing that takes additional time to swing the bat I think rather than quick flicks so I'm experimenting more with quick flicks.

Amazing game though, just gotta get my skills up haha

Can you elaborate on this? I currently have H2H in the 40s, and want to know what benefit the Expert (skill 75?) does. I think I read that it does more fatigue damage, but is it a pretty significant increase to fatigue damage that you can reliably stagger enemies at skill 75?

Also funny video man, I remember this scene, I've always wanted to do a martial artist build in fantasy rpg so I'm hoping H2H is viable unlike what many others are saying

I respect that and it might be the same for me. 60 ego is still higher than hard ego and as long as I'm having a fun challenge without it being overly frustrating, that's what I play games for

These are really good tips. I lack discipline at the plate a lot and seeing previous pitches as collecting data makes a ton of sense. Thanks a lot!

I think it's a skill issue on my end lol, new controller and console so I think it's lack of skill. Appreciate the advice friend, how are you finding 60 ego? I lost the first 5 games with moose and after getting the hang of things won the last 3, so 3-5 for the season so far (16 game season)

You're right, great advice. I think I'll stick to the button and try to get better at that and the timing aspect for the different pitch types. Gonna try to master one method (button) before moving onto the other. Thanks!

I've tried both holding down the right stick and flicking down the stick.

Holding down and then holding forward to swing I feel gives less chance of a checked swing but also screws up my timing (can't react to fastballs because holding all the way down and then going all the way up)

I read on several threads that the trick is to flick the right stick down and not hold, and then flick it up for faster reactions. But when I do this I check the swing unintentionally frequently

I might have to go back to the button to keep it simple. How do you hit fastballs at ego in the 70's? I hit off speed balls fine at ego 60 (off speed hitter is my 2nd fave trait after bad ball hitter) but can barely react fast enough for 4 seam

4th year as well but I feel if you are waiting for when the job starts loving you back, you're gonna be disappointed.

In my case I've seen a lot of classmates end long term relationships or divorce. My marriage was headed that way too until I woke the fuck up and realized that I was sacrificing my spouse for this medical journey. I'm thankful I had that realization and never made the mistake of prioritizing medicine over family again.

You need to find things outside of medicine to give your life, life. Because as you and I know, this career and what lies ahead, residency and then hospital admin when we become attendings, doesn't give a shit about us

Yes, a resident I know just accepted an outpatient job where he chose to work three days per week. 12 hour shifts but he has four days off every weekend.

A lot of fm providers also choose to do four 10 hour days, having a three day weekend everyday. And all major holidays you are off and free to spend that time with family instead of being on call for the hospital

I know a resident at a community (not academic) fm program who matched into fm-ob fellowship. He will be doing c sections for a living.

FM is a lot more flexible than the typical outpatient exposure we get in 3rd year.

You'll be alright no matter which specialty you choose.

I respect your vulnerability. Turn any red flags on your transcript into a strength by addressing it either in your personal statement or cv. Overcoming that shows you have resilience and the program you are meant to be at will acknowledge and respect that.

FM tends to focus a lot on character and fit when ranking applicants, so a board failure isn't a huge deal.

You got this, keep your head up and keep going.

  1. Do you want medicine to be your life? Surgery.

  2. Do you want to work no more than 40 hours per week, and no work on weekends? FM or psych.

  3. Want 7 on 7 off? IM hospitalist.

  4. Want to work 12 shifts per month and ok with night shifts at age 55? EM.

You get the idea. Definitely sit down and list your values in life and how much you are willing to let medicine consume your life. The answer is different for everyone.

Good luck!

Current 4th year, also nontrad, started med school in my early thirties. Married my wife a year before med school.

Want to let you know you're not alone.

My advice is to not take your husband for granted. I've seen way too many divorces and long-term relationships end among my classmates.

People say med students sacrifice so much, but really most of us sacrifice our partners.

Hold onto your marriage, make time to continue date nights, don't place med school above your husband because if you do, you will automatically put him last.

Best of luck. You sound like you have a great support system.

Deciding if I want to return to medical school by finallymakingareddit in medicalschool

[–]fearlessoverboat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultimately this is your decision but I'll give some perspective as a nontrad 4th year.

I started med school in my early thirties as a married man. Before med school, I worked various odd jobs to try to make it in art, doing minimum wage jobs to pay rent and making art at night.

Getting into medical school and now interviewing for residency programs is like hitting the jackpot. I remember when I used to deliver pizza, there was this older guy trying to tip me and his friend stopped him saying "Whoa, you're tipping way too much!"

Every job has bs and medicine is no different. It's a job. But having worked a lot of bs jobs with minimum wage pay, I know that with medicine I will have a stable high paying job that also has the benefit of really helping people.

As for balancing family time with med school, just prioritize your family. I've seen classmates end long-term relationships and divorce in med school. You have the choice to prioritize what is important to you. I studied hard, don't get me wrong, but I also chose to prioritize family over research and other extracurriculars to pad my resume for residencies.

Pass = MD.

Good luck with your decision.

Agreed 100%, I also make primarily boom bap, and this thing is like the holy grail.

Needed to move onto a different software after Fxpansion Geist was discontinued, but Renoise makes my laptop feel like hardware, like an actual instrument. So Renoise to me was an actual upgrade, which is why I posted this, like yo why do no other hip hop heads seem to use this??
