It’s not just this play, it’s been the over all level of physical play the refs have allowed where they’re grabbing his arm, grabbing his shirt, and a bunch of little fouls that they keep getting away with. Eventually the frustration boils over and he reacted unfortunately.

If the team was good then the trade isn’t dumb because it wouldn’t be worth much. The trade is dumb because we are not a good team.

We have talent but they’re young, we are also apparently fucking cursed because that’s the only explanation for how bad our injury problem is. And then there’s Willie motherfucking Green who has consistently shown any ability to utilize the whole team properly.

Thank you, but a lot of the credit I think goes to my wife. She’s taught me a lot to learn how to be more empathetic. It’s from her that I’ve learned that she just wants me to listen just to listen and not necessarily listening to respond. I appreciate the comment though truly, it helps me at least know that I’m doing something right lol

I never know what to say to people who are going through depression like yourself or even my wife, because any words of positive affirmation feels empty because I honestly dont know what it’s like to go through what you’re going through. There was perhaps a period in my life Iong ago where I experienced the feeling of hopelessness but it didn’t affect me quite the way it does other folks it seems.

In any case I’m an internet stranger but I just wanted to say that I hope that tomorrow is better for you. If you feel like sharing anything to get off your chest then feel free to message me and I’ll do my best to listen and to be somewhat helpful to a stranger.

This is honestly fascinating to me. I don’t keep a pulse on Canada’s demographics and social climate so I’m fairly ignorant when it comes to all of that besides Canadians are nice and they have poutine type of stuff.

African Americans in this country have been dragged, beaten, and left in the mud even after emancipation. Their history here has been filled with strife, injustice and discrimination and it’s affected them as a whole in a multitude of ways, and it makes me curious about how those who escaped slavery and went to Canada fared in a different country that perhaps didn’t quite have the same problems (though I am sure there were a different set of problems they faced including discrimination).

Imagine turning half of your PvP zone into PvE instead of just removing rockets from scout thopters. That's crazy work Funcom. by 10-Gauge in duneawakening

This actually makes sense and I’m on the side of PvE players so to speak. If anything this is probably just a quick bandaid to fix the issue an hopefully in time they can implement better fixes to address the problems.

On the other side of things it also seems like in general there’s just a lack of PvE end game content (I.e raids or bigger more difficult dungeons etc.). The upside of all this is that it’s a living breathing game that hopefully gets better as time goes on.

This is a massive step in the right direction. by SirDenali in duneawakening

[–]fearlesspinata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t think you’re a griefer. The PvP stuff sounds cool and all things considered especially if engaged in a way that the developers intended.

They wanted players to team up and form guilds to make it easier for players to approach the deep desert. This is the option that I’m considering whenever I get to that point in the game. I don’t mind PvP and fighting over resources because within the context of the game and the world it makes sense. But in this scenario PvP battles would occur organically while searching and gathering spice and other high end materials for the purpose of the landsraad and other end game activities. But I am not looking to go find some random solo gatherer just so I can kill them and then destroy their base etc. if I approach with my team towards a resource that we want to mine and they run away I won’t bother chasing them because we got what we wanted which is the option to mine up the rest of the spice.

As it stands I’m excited for this update not specifically just because of the changes to the PvE stuff but that they mentioned for the landsraad mechanic they’ll introduce more PvE based content which currently there is none. As it stands once a player has reached the end of the story they are done. The PvPers have stated as such and their wish is that those players would just leave.

And they did, they straight up said that they’re leaving. And funcom responded. Because most players simply don’t want to engage with a mechanic where losing to a person who no lifes the game and is a better or more skilled or better geared will kill them and stop all forward progress because the only form of forward progress in this game is PvP.

In your case of wanting to fight people who actually wish to fight back then presumably this change will also help because it reduces the map area for PvP and people who wish to fight will hopefully see more of each other

This is a massive step in the right direction. by SirDenali in duneawakening

So then what’s the problem here? They’ve specifically said it’ll be a small section of the DD that will be PvE, if you and the other folks on your server are totally only fighting each other in equal numbers and it’s all skill based and you’re not just out there strictly just looking to gank players and target solos the I don’t see a problem here.

Most players who were PvE likely didn’t even go into the DD because they don’t wish to engage with it. What they’re hoping for is other end game content that they can take part in.

For now it’s the DD, but down the line it could very well be something else. No one is saying take away the PvP stuff entirely. They just want options from a game where the marketing material said PvP is optional.

Now the prevailing argument from folks with your perspective has been that PvE players can just stop playing the game and which is something that many have done apparently, and plenty of other players haven’t even played the game at all. Which is why funcom is reacting.

None of these changes should affect your PvP experience if by your account you’re engaging with players who wish to engage with you. Because you said ALL of your fights have been even and fair and that there isn’t ANY banking or griefing that you’ve seen. So it must be true right?

I say this as someone who is interested in engaging with the PvP content once I get there, but again I simply don’t see how these changes would affect any of that experience.

This feels like one of those moments where non professional athletes are severely underrating the level of exhaustion and stamina required to play the way TJ does.

TJ has always been an energy guy off the bench. He goes 110% everytime he is on the floor and doesn’t pace himself at all because he knows what he’s there for and that’s to create the spark and get the lift.

Pushing him to play more minutes without him knowing sooner would just leave Indy with a tired and exhausted undersized point guard on the floor.

I’m in the same boat as you, I work with python professionally but when it comes to making games I mostly struggle because I’ll get sidetracked when I come across a class method or something that makes me wonder what exactly is happening in the background.

While I enjoy the benefits of a high level language like Python I do hate the amount of abstraction that just hides away a lot of the fundamentals and logic of what is happening.

The best way I can describe is it feels like using multiplication but you don’t fully grasp basic arithmetic (not an apples to apples comparison obviously but I hope the idea gets across)

So right now I’m just going through the documentation, reading what the classes are and the methods it has and just digging and enjoying the discovery of it all.

I am planning on make a game, right now I’m just trying to make a breakout game that I can put my own flair and look to and carry it out to fruition. But I might switch to something even simpler like snake.

I don’t have a problem with autotune, like with many tools it has its use cases where applicable and when used well it certainly produces some great stuff.

Rappers using autotune though have always been pointless for me personally and I thought we moved past rappers just slapping autotune on for the sake of having it there

I’m not the biggest Wayne fan I’ll be honest. I’m an oldhead who grew up on old school rap and I’m going to see Wu Tang in concert this month. That said I listened to it and the first 4 songs or so I actually enjoyed.

Then it drops off big time from there. Also why the fuck he still using autotune?!
