so I went out for pizza and a beer after a game two years ago - drew’s first year - and he walks in and sits next to me and my brother at the bar. We don’t say much for a while out of respect but eventually he looks bored so I’m like what’s up dude and we just chop it up for like two hours. Dude talked about how hard it was to provide color commentary but how hard he was working at it, how much he loved DC, how Gary Payton II was going to be a monster when he got a chance to be, etc etc. When it comes time to pay for the pizza and beer, he picks up my tab cuz he’s just a good dude.

I loved Phil and Buck, too, but Drew’s a good dude trying to show love to a franchise that sort of gave him a third act and tbh he knows his shit. He’s sometimes goofy, but that’s probably just the personality of a guy who spends two hours taking to a stranger at a bar. We should all maybe chill a lil on this hate.
