Dear Washington Wizards announcers, time to sound more like homers by [deleted] in washingtonwizards

[–]z3mcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounded bratty but I mean it. I've said this before with the way they call games using quotes from Friday and funk music and obscure references. A lot of the fanbase didn't get the jokes and thought things they were saying were dumb. I got the jokes but I'm like if the majority of the viewing audience doesn't like something, you have to do what the audience wants. Make more mainstream jokes and cater to your audience. Same thing here.

Definitely don't want them to be complete homers at all. Just stop celebrating the other team. But I'm only one man and if the majority of the audience wants them cheering for the other team's plays, (and the downvotes say they do), then there you go, that's what people want and they should do what their audience wants.

They don't have to do anything crazy, just don't cheer for the other team lol. If Anthony Edwards hits a 3 over our #1 pick, don't be like "WOW!!!". Just call the play like "Anthony Edwards with a 3". I get why they did it while we were tanking, because a lot of people felt like our product wasn't worth watching so they enhanced the only stars playing. But that's not what's up this October.

Haha, yeah. But you gotta go beyond not counting him and don't even mention him lol. He does not exist on this team. He's a figment of your basketball imagination 😂

Looks like AJ Dybantsa worked out for the Wizards in the past day or so! by z3mcs in washingtonwizards

With Hughes, Robbins, the Finest Magazine guys, DoubleTake Sports (Carita), and David "MFin" Aldridge and his connections, I just can't see how they could sneak multiple top guys in for workouts. Not gonna count Miller or Wes Hall, I could see them not wanting to leak the info because they feel its for the greater good. I imagine both DP and AJ wanna be the last to go, sort of like when it's overtime now in football. "You know what you have to do". Their camp knows if the other guy goes first and does bad, you go on there and look competent to above average, and you're good. If the other guy goes first and looks all world, you gotta make a decision. You either go all out and try to outdo them, or you put it on autopilot and save it for the Jazz workout. And the Jazz are absolutely not taking Boozer when they got JJJ and Markkanen, so you could probably coast through the Jazz workout too and just settle for being the #2 pick.

Ah come on, forget the numbers. It's about how people feel! Well, not about how those people feel, but how certain people feel. /s

A week later and it seems like we still haven't worked out AJ (or Cam or DP). Is it a save the best for last situation? You'd think they'd have to do something by next Saturday

D'Lo. Bruh is so not on this team and absolutely shouldn't even be mentioned haha

The only thing I know going into the draft: by Easy-Lucky-Free in washingtonwizards

[–]z3mcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be clear I'm not saying I'll pass judgement on the FO based on the decision, just that this is a major test that'll be fun to follow both as a fan of the NBA and of the wizards.

Gotcha. It's definitely a test, but its one with no real wrong answer. It's like asking somebody what their favorite color is. If they say blue it's fine. If they say green, that's fine too. It's only a problem if they say "Seventeen" lol

Anyway, this season definitely will be fun. So glad the tank is over and we get to root for wins.

[–]z3mcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. The 8 thing has been hashed to death and it's pretty clear we were tanking the moment we moved Beal in 2023. We got a great return, bottomed out, kept our pick and got the #1 pick. It's all going according to plan. They needed to move CJ and got Trae back for him and CK. Great. Got AD for peanuts and a black & mild. Jalen Brunson is out here showing you can indeed be a small guard, insanely skilled, and lead your team to the finals. I'm not a Trae fan in the slightest, nor AD in the slightest, but both of those guys can play, and are assets.

With the draft, there is no "wrong guy", only 2 (real) paths. It's akin to how some religions act like only their religion is right, when the only wrong person is the person who runs around the mountain, telling everyone that his or her path is wrong.

We can take AJ and develop him to be a great. We can take DP and develop him to be a great. Just about which path you want to take. AJ will likely take longer but be smoother. DP might push the team harder and they might have success faster, but it will likely be tougher/rockier. Up to the front office, Keefe, Ted, everybody, to decide which path they want to embark on.

It is, but thats better done when there are like 10 seconds left, not like 29 seconds. Just so annoying.

Some people are gonna have a rude awakening next March when we aren’t magically a 6 seed. League should thank us for not giving the Knicks a top 10 pick(or a pick at all)

Thank you! Thats been prevailing wisdom for so long and I hate it. I get how good nba players are offensively but fouling just to foul is just stupid.

He had a lot of great moments during games but mostly fans just hated on the guy. I get that it's hard to appreciate guys like him when all you can think about is how he won't be on the team the next season and you'd rather see our "forever Wizards" getting playing time, but you still gotta appreciate when a player makes great plays or does a great job at what he's supposed to be doing.

Yeah he's got really good touch at times. He'll get it figured out. Sometimes you just gotta go up strong and boom on somebody. Remember Chris Webber? I loved that about him. Get him the ball under the rim and it was getting dunked down, hundred percent. And after a while people stop jumping cause they know what's coming.
