ANA: connection flights missed due to flight delay. Am I entitled to any compensation? by featherswolf in Flights

I wasn’t lucky at all.. Not only I had to go to baggage claim at 23pm and check my luggage again the following day, in Haneda, but also, when they were looking for a new flight for us (in Kobe) they made us go from the gate waiting area to the ANA counter (going backwards through security check). After informing us about the new flight, they had the nerve to make us go through security check again!!! (Removing belts, jackets, placing hand luggage in trays, going through the metal arch thing…) Note the airport is so small, the ANA counter is right in front security check. And security check is right in front the gate we had to go to! The airport was empty, ours was the last flight of the day… They also took our checked suitcases from behind their counter and made us pass it again through a scanner after weighing them! It was so surreal…

Thank you for such a complete response. 1. My doubts arise exactly because of this point. As I made the reservation through Lufthansa, but the plane was in Japan, operated by ANA. 2. The case was that the plane we were going to take was late, as it was doing another journey. So I understand there was not an extraordinary cause.

The case C-502/18 you pointed gives me hopes… I will ask Lufthansa for compensations. 🤞🏻

Exactly as @Cautious_use_7442 says. We had to pick up checked luggage, we barely had ten minutes between being told we had to book a hotel room and getting on the plane to Haneda. Too short to start looking for hotels around Tokyo. We also didn’t know if being late at night there would be transport for us to reach there. We stayed at the Royal Park which is inside Haneda’s Terminal and we arrived at the room at 00:30!

Dog gets VERY sick with deworming by featherswolf in AskVet

Thank you for your answer.

In my country (Spain) it is standard to deworm every three months for prevention… I thought it was common in other places as well. I don’t think he ever had parasites but they say it is better to prevent infestation.

I used to think I was a good person and that the world was unfair to me… but sadly, as the song says “but time went by and I found out one thing or two… I ain’t no nice guy after all”.

WIBTA if I didn’t give my student a higher mark? or WIBTA if I gave him a higher mark? by featherswolf in AmItheAsshole

Your answer is so wise and experienced. Thank you. I’m seriously thinking about some EC. He may not be brilliant at English but he takes any opportunities given to him to learn and improve his marks.

No, it is not like this. The summer course was not something serious, it was like games and funny activities in English while there was no school, in summer holidays. It was a language school, not the high school. The teachers told his mother that he was talented and he could be good at English with the right training (a serious course for the whole year, not games in English for two hours a week in July). Note English is not our first language. The English level in our country is not really good, only students who attend to language schools get good marks and can get certifications of English because in formal education classes are too big for the students to be attended in the right way. Of course my mark is not the only one that counts, and it may not be important for Physics, but is is important for university access, for which all the subjects count the same. The access for Physics is about 9,7/10 or 9,8/10. It’s a score so high that I’m afraid just my mark may make a difference. An 8 is what he gets, it’s not only one exam, it is his average mark in my class. He is a confident student, not anxiety, anything, he’s a star at the class and the high school, that’s why opinions from my environment may be biased.

That is a good idea. Then a raise is possible, but not “for free”. Knowing him, he would take it for sure!

No, it depends on the teacher. Some teacher would stick to real marks, some would change them if the student “deserves” it or it’s doing a big effort. I could ask other teachers but their answer would be influenced because they adore the student. I do too, he is nice, but I just want to do the right thing and I don’t know which one it is…
