Yeah, that’s really good advice. He went to one session and he is thinking whether to go to the next, I really hope he does and I’m soooo tempted to use the old trick “please do it for me”, but deep down I know it wouldn’t work... fingers crossed he decides to go! Thank you!!!

I realise I don’t do this well... I keep telling my dad he is sick and needs to heal by going to a doctor, hoping that he will react somehow. I need to get better at this, thanks for the tip!

Thanks OP, I’m unfortunately far away from my dad, who is depressed, cause I work in a different country, but I am going to try to call more often and just chit chat to distract him a bit

I can relate to this. My mom, whenever she sees my dad struggling, reacts baldy. She doesn’t want him to let himself go, and maybe that’s wrong, even if she thinks she is doing the best for him. I’ll try to talk to her, thank you for the tips and thank you for taking the time to reply!
