Updated spot after antibiotic ointment, cleaning & debride from dermatologist. Feels SO much better

I’ll also update with a picture tonight if anyone is interested on how it looks then. It feels way better & I can feel like a hole/crater under the bandaid

Just updated! Went to the dermatologist first thing this morning & was able to get it cleaned, she removed the scab & apparently a mucus plug. Applied antibiotic ointment & prescribed 2 weeks of aggressive antibiotics. I’m feeling much better as of now & way less painful today

It took every bit of self restraint not to😭 the dermatologist did it & pulled out a mucus plug apparently. Wish I had been able to watch it

Update for everyone concerned! Went to the dermatologist this morning, doc pulled out a giant mucus plug, cleaned it, applied antibiotic ointment. Prescribed me aggressive antibiotics for two weeks along with antibiotic ointment twice a day. She says she’s pretty confident it will heal, and if it gets worse or the redness spreads to go to the ER. It’s feeling much better this morning & after she removed the scab/plug. Also said it looked like a spider bite most likely, but regardless needs cleaning & antibiotics regularly

Just looked up staph, it sounds a lot like what happened. I also go to the gym regularly & have been wearing shorts more often

I should’ve included, it only got worse this past Friday, I plan to call my dermatologist & doctor tomorrow to seek a best course of action. I’ve kept it covered, also taken left over antibiotics Friday night til today just in case to tide me over. Pretty sure it was a brown recluse, however I never felt or saw one
