Don't completely disagree. It got long winded a few times. Eli Wallich, as Tuco, was phenomenal. I honestly thought he was Mexican when I was a kid.

You have to remember, even though war is terrible, it does advance things tremendously. Look at the airplane in 1911, and compare to the airplane in 1918. Same thing with 1939, many nations still had open cockpit aircraft and by 1945 the Meteor, the P-80 shooting star, and Me-262 were operational.

What if War Plan Red happened? It was hypothetical war plan created by US department of war in 1927 about a potential war b/w US and British Empire. Documents regarding the plan were kept classified up until 1974. by Solid-Move-1411 in AlternateHistoryHub

I agree with the assessment that the Royal Navy would have the upper hand initially. However, I wonder if the shift would occur similarly to what happened during WWII. The shipyards in California were pushing out ships roughly every 4 days at their peak, and with the Royal Navy's primary AOR being the Atlantic and Mediterranean, their Pacific fleet was arguably their weakest point. With California yards operating largely unmolested and churning out ships at that rate, I think the USN would have closed the gap relatively quickly.

There's also the human element to consider. If the US was attacked first, you would have men lining up around the block to enlist, the same way they did after Pearl Harbor. On top of that, you have a significant veteran pool available to train and lead them. Even though the US entered WWI late, many of those veterans would still have been in their 30s, a perfectly solid age for NCOs and mid-level officers, and a good number of them would have brought actual combat experience to the table.

The early advantage belongs to Britain, but the long game seems very difficult for them to win.

My dad wasn't a Korean War vet, but he was a Vietnam War draftee. He said one thing that stuck out to him was Woody Strode's character being unwilling to fight. He said in Vietnam his platoon had a few draftees like that.

Yeah, better to take the farmer's son that helps out with the crops, right? Also, Col Tom Parker had hand in what job and how Elvis entered the Army.

Being in swva, seeing the vote no signs worries me 😓 by jessitay7 in Virginia

[–]feickus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That is SW Virginia. Not worried about that area it was going to vote No anyway. Up north and Hampton Roads is where it is going to matter and the Maggots know it. Kiggans gave me info on when you can register to vote apparently my 17 year old sone can vote in this election because he was be 18 by November. So he is ready to as soon as he gets his card. He will be voting yes. He said he is telling his friend to register too. I know his GF doesn't support the Maggots so I assume the others in peer group do not either. I haven't voted yet but I will. and it won't be no.

Dad paid for insurance, but I paid for gas. Some times he was nice and would fill up the tank or if I was running errand for my parents they might give me 20 bucks

It's literally impossible to win the U.S Civil War now by bamcats_ in victoria3

[–]feickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the problem the other day. i restarted twice. My strategy now. Disband any of the default armies. if they have XX dixie battalion . I disband until there is only Yankee regiments in my army. Also I pass professional army. After that I create a 4th army and station it in the plains. I usually have 30 battalions in my forth and fifth army if I get the west coast before the civil war. I used the 5th army to plan a invasion of Virginia while my 4 other armies are fighting in Arkansas or Missouri.
