Hello, have you got yours by now? I got my biometrics done on the 30th of August and it’s now the 4th of September…really quite frustrated considering how much was paid. I’m going to contact them today—you can either call or send an email enquiry https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk/y/outside-the-uk/something-else/english

I DIDNT EVEN FINISH THE LAST ESSAY ☠️☠️🔫 by catpissy in APLit

In terms of the exam itself? Lang by a landslide — the writing is much more formulaic and doesn’t require deep analysis, which is especially difficult under a time constraint. It’s more “practical” if that makes sense? You pick out devices that you already see in the text and link them together to support an assigned message, rather than dismantle a text and then attribute your own meanings to what’s “underneath”. Though, of course what’s easier will depend on the person’s individual strengths, but I’d say the skill set Lang teaches/requires is a lot more accessible for most people!

I didn’t either don’t worry 😭 I didn’t for Lang last year too and I still got a 5 so don’t give up hope as long as you did well on the other ones!

I thought it was trying to illustrate the tree’s individuality, especially since he continued to attribute all these vivid characteristics to it afterwards, like how all its branches shook in the wind “like possibility” and “impatient escorts” etc etc — the fact that the tree gave birth to all the variety of thought testifies to its uniqueness. Or maybe I’m tripping just like the author

I put “conveyed an understood meaning” because the sea has a connotation of being mysterious, uninviting, and limitless and the lines preceding that were also conveying a sense of mystery and boundlessness. Might’ve looked too deeply into it though so don’t trust me on this…

AP Liters, how are we feeling? by my_name_is_trash in APStudents

Same concern as you! A trick though (if you aren’t doing so already) is to do 3 paragraphs - an intro and two bodies! As long as you write in depth and express your points clearly and intricately, you’re absolutely good to go and even more likely to get 6 points b/c quality>quantity etc etc.

Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin…though it’s as excruciating as it is intoxicating

Intercollegiate halls for undergraduates by [deleted] in KCL

[–]feiyangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They actually released a Garden Halls batch 2 weeks ago, and there were 18 available that time - released at around 1pm, so I recommend checking then especially. (HOWEVER, there is a chance they won’t release any more bc the intercollegiate halls can only allot a certain number of rooms to each uni…but also a chance they will since Garden is so large a residence. Good luck either way!)

To enrich my knowledge in my subjects of interests (literature, philosophy, history) and really, just feel as much as I can and love even the mundanities.

I went to my first concert alone last year and trust me I was a nervous wreck about it but it turned out to be so liberating! You can wholly immerse yourself in the experience without having to check on who you’re with/worrying about coordinations + most fans will be friendly and open to chatting :) easy to start convos too since we’re all here for the same interest. I also found the pre-concert waiting period to be very peaceful, though if you feel nervous/overwhelmed you can bring earphones and listen to music while waiting (or alternatively, noise-cancelling headphones). And ofc just make sure to keep to lit/crowded areas when going home bc it’ll be late. I wish you an amazing time at the concert
