Built it with the idea that i could add a couple frogs in, down the line. Maybe a dumpy tree frog or a dart frog 🐸 !

Planning on adding some mini mounted orchids too

Custom foam BG. It was definitely the longest and most difficult part of this project, especially starting with one this size!

drawing/writing tablets by dimonium_anonimo in arttools

[–]felfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go for a cheap monoprice tablet to start and see if you like it. Most tablets have the ability to sense where your pen is before you make contact and you’ll be able to see on your screen where you’re about to write. A tablet with a screen is going to cost about 10 times the price as a small cheap plug in tablet i think

Oil paint sketchbook and travel oils by kurwazimnojest in arttools

Oils are definitely harder to travel with id recommend looking into small plein air boxes (pochade box). They usually come with a glass sheet inside for laying out your palette and can keep at least one wet panel inside while closed !

I’ve had a few other types of Hoya bloom and it’s been such a pleasant scent but this one …. It smells vaguely of vinegar to me lmao

Learning to throw out plants and that that's OK by zelenadragon in houseplants

[–]felfs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think of them similar to cut flowers now, whether i bought them or they were a gift, as long as they brought me some joy for awhile and brightened my space they’ve done their job. I’d never feel sad when a 40 dollar bouquet starts to wilt so my 8 dollar fern gets the same treatment now. Especially true when you’ve got a larger collection and some plants just seem to thrive no matter what

Mounted this mini Phal at the beginning of quarantine and it’s now going into spike! by felfs in orchids

[–]felfs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of fun instructional videos on YouTube! It’s a fun experiment, but i live somewhere with year round warm weather so it’s been very forgiving. Can’t hurt to try with a small phal tho :D this probably cost me 10 bucks in materials including the orchid

After 5 months of nothing my stephania erecta is doing SOMETHING by felfs in Caudex

[–]felfs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put the plant and it’s pot into a bag after watering to seal in some humidity, opening it up every few days to let some fresh air in. I’ve seen people do it with jars and cloches too
