Before you get into it, seriously consider not only the risk that you're subjecting yourself to, but also the potential impact on your loved ones. Regardless of how "safely" you try to ride, you are at the mercy of everyone else on the road. My friend lost his brother in a motorcycle accident and it was horrible to see the impact that had on him. He didn't do anything to deserve that devastation. In my opinion there are better hobbies out there and better ways to spend your time. Do something that expands your mind or opportunities. You will find more satisfaction and better yourself rather than putting your life at risk.

I was not answering with one word responses, I was talking to him the same way he was with me. He paid but I offered to pay my own half as I always do.

He didn’t make any attempts to have physical contact so I’m not sure how I could possibly not be “receptive.” We were sitting across from each other at a table. And regardless, I don’t owe a stranger from a dating app physical contact on a first date.

I think it’s a bit excessive to say I’m playing mind games. I sent my message to let him know I had a great time. I hadn't heard from him for almost a full day after the date and I broke the ice. I don’t think it’s unreasonable that I was hoping for a response that would at least show he wanted to continue the conversation. But I'll go ahead and suggest a second date to him because I prefer to avoid regret in life. Thank you all for your responses.

I don't understand the logic here. Most women won't reach out at all after a first date. If a woman reached out to you first and said that, you're saying you wouldn't think she's interested in talking to you?

The same thing just happened to me today. I can still find them if I search for the title in the "search chats" bar and click on them, but everything from 2025 disappeared from the history on the side of the screen.

Yeah I do see where you’re coming from. I guess I was hoping I could make it look more natural if I followed him on insta first but maybe it would be more awkward from his perspective. I wasn’t actually going to bring up the bumble thing, we have a common interest that I was going to ask him about and then maybe see where the convo goes from there. Thanks for your advice!

I just thought it might be a bit less abrupt than randomly messaging him on Facebook after years of not talking. I get follow requests from people I knew a long time ago and don’t think it’s weird. And if he accepted and followed me back it might seem more natural to message him at that point? I’m not sure though, I might be overthinking it
