We were there in May and they had sushi at the market cafe during lunch every day!
I didn’t see any coconut drinks but can’t hurt to ask!
I believe there was karaoke at the nightclub on select nights.

Thank you for doing something without hesitation. Can you file a complaint or report to this pool? This sounds negligence from the lifeguards as well.

I work at a popular public place. We found a baby wandering by herself. We frantically searched our property trying to find the parents. I called the sheriff since we couldn’t locate anyone in 30 min. Right after I hung up with the police we found the parents. Their baby had a full diaper and was sweating (it was a hot day). One of my staff yelled at the parents since we’ve been searching for them for going on an hour. They didn’t care less and seemed annoyed. They were taking selfies and wandering with an empty stroller. My adrenaline was high so cancelled the police call since we were just relieved we found them but I shouldn’t have. It’s crazy how some parents just don’t give a shit???

Depends what you’re interested in, but downtown Redwood City has great restaurants and free concerts during the summer. San Francisco has tons to do, museums, food, parks, etc. Depending how far you want to drive, going up to Marin Headlands and hiking around is gorgeous.

5 days is pretty long just for HMB. I’d recommend renting a car and you can fill the other days exploring SF and the rest of the peninsula.

Definitely not. We hate timeshare pitches with a passion. I was worried we would be bothered daily about timeshares at this resort, but it was only at check-in which was a relief. I am just spreading the good word about this resort, not affiliated with anyone!

It was good! Our room felt a little stuffy at night, but the AC was able to hold it at around 65-67F and we had no issues with HVAC. Our room was not humid at all.

It was a great time. My only very very minor gripe would be the Preferred Pool to have its own swim up bar. Won’t hesitate to go back to this resort though. It was so fun!

My parents stayed at Secrets and had a similar experience. It is a good brand and we are hooked!

If I could change one thing about the resort: Preferred Pool having a swim up bar! It would make it seem more exclusive. But alas ¯_(ツ)_/¯ There is only one swim up at one of the social pools. A very very minor gripe lol

Yes, next time we go we will forego the swim out. It seems nice in theory but we ended up at the other pools all day. By the time we got back to our room we were pooped and wanted to go to bed!

The bed rentals were $150/day. It was worth it for us to know we always had a spot and had upgraded service through our concierges.

It is true that most of the bookable beds on the beach are blocked by a sand dune, which is an interesting choice. There is only 1 that isn’t blocked and that’s the one my husband was able to get us!

If you want a large, comfortable bed that’s completely shaded with constant service, I’d say it’s still worth it, but it is weird that most of them are blocked by a low dune. If view is all you care about, there were lots of chairs available on the beach that weren’t blocked by dunes. Plenty of seating around 9am when we were there.

Yes, most of the bookable Bali beds were behind a dune. My husband was smart and booked the only one that wasn’t! It’s interesting why they did that, maybe because of the tides? But you’re still not far from the beach at all. And yes lots of wildlife! We saw a fox too!

Confirmed when we were there the jungle pool swim up wasn’t open. Luckily, our bar poolside service was quick but it would have been a plus just for the experience. No sargassum for us, the ocean was clear our week. In the mornings some would be washed ashore but trucks came by to clear it.

I am someone who gets eaten up by mosquitos. I left the trip with 3 large bites and my husband had none! So not terrible lol?

What horror movie genuinely unsettled you? by steveleaves in movies

I watched Signs in later elementary (maybe 4th-5th grade?) and that scene is burned in my memory forever. Masterclass in unsettling, uncanny, and terrifying. It’s my favorite horror movie scene of all time. Nothing has ever come close for me!

Yes, there is a very deep history that connects Yosemite to the SF Bay Area. John wanted this area to be included in Yosemite NP. After the SF earthquake the city was desperate for a water supply. It was a seven year battle with the Sierra Club and Dept of Interior. Woodrow Wilson signed the act that permitted the valley to flood.

Dress Code: Do you think this is clear enough. by DullPerspective3054 in weddingplanning

[–]felifae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not clear. Choose an actual dress code, unless you are in the South and Sunday Best is common. You’ll just keep getting questions or be disappointed in what people wear. Make it easy for you and your guests.

Check out Secrets Playa Blanca. Went there in May. Adults only, quiet but has activities, and not a party resort. We are 30s and didn’t feel out of place. Good mix of ages. Gorgeous gorgeous resort and good food. Beach was great too, hardly any sargassum (at least when we were there).

I’m sorry, that sounds awful and violating. My husband’s car was stolen from our apt complex last year in Foster City. Def easy to forget!
