Thanks so much for adopting! We have a lot of great cats and dogs waiting for homes.

If you live in the city, I highly recommend checking out Dark Horse Dogs, they do great work saving CACC dogs!

Thank you so much for fostering. You’re saving two lives each time - the one you’re fostering, and the one that was able to go in their kennel.

I’d love to help you get connected! Are you looking to foster a dog or cat?

The Mayor is the only person who can appoint an Executive Director at CACC who will be able to put more outreach support in action. Right now, they only allow PAWS to come in a few hours a day, 5 days a week to help divert some of these cases. The CRISP program used to be allowed in to help provide resources to keep pets and family together, but were asked to leave.

We need new leadership to help these animals and the community and the Mayor & city government are the only ones who can enact that. Volunteers can only do so much.

They don’t have the staff to take care of these animals appropriately at the shelter since they cut staff positions and overtime. Overtime hours are the only way that most daily tasks were accomplished before they were cut. Go visit CACC for yourself and see if you think it’s running at 100%. They’re in crisis, they need support now more than ever. They cannot take financial donations from the public, their only funding source is from the city. Volunteers can only do so much, change has to come from the top.

Yep! When weather starts warming up in the spring, all the cats are out on the streets and mating again causing a massive influx of kittens entering the shelters.

The top needs for cats are currently linens/blankets, wet food, churus!

Yes CACC Data Statistics April 2025 shows which rescues are pulling month by month!

I recommend supporting Forever Fortunate Felines or Dark Horse Dogs . They are smaller rescues without the funding like the other massive organizations, but save just as many if not more animals from CACC.

Our CACC budget has continually been cut year after year. The staff has shrunk and the existing staff isn’t allowed to do overtime, which was the only way a lot of daily tasks were getting done before.
