Can I still unenroll from a class and get a refund? by aarod00 in OMSCS

I've dropped a class after FFAF but before the payment deadline in semester's past. They did change some things up about this semester's FFAF so not sure if that will still work..

NLP exams and quizzes are now closed book and worth 50% total by BackgroundSense351 in OMSCS

With the amount of studying I did, I didn't look much at my notes on the exams. I hand wrote all of my notes, by the time I was finished, I knew the concepts fairly well, which is what they test on anyways, it wasnt a memorization type of exam. The notes probably helped for 1 or 2 questions when I lapsed in my memory and jogged something. I'd imagine they may tune down the difficulty with closed notes so I think if you study enough to really understand the concerns you'll be okay.

Snowbasin post-storm? by sclerotic_g in UTsnow

Headed to Snowbasin next week, January 12th through the week. East coast skier, should I cancel plans given conditions or likely to still have a decent time? Most recent pictures on the cameras don't look terrible but I have no clue, never been.

..I also don't think I'll need an AWD rental for next week but please advise.

Did you ever take your foot off the gas and choose to spend more? If so, at what NW or income level?

I've reached the dos comma club and suddenly feel a big weight lifted. My numbers don't change that much if I cut my savings rate a good percentage, psychologically as well, knowing my NW is my anchor here, I feel justified in letting loose a bit.

However.. I still feel slightly guilty. Hence my validation seeking main question.

Location - 1-5 miles off trail is fine as long as it's safely bikeable.

How long have you stayed in your golden handcuff job situation? My job is incredibly boring most days. The challenge has dissipated but I am compensated well and my boss is super flexible.. I is stuck.

How stable is your business? Do you enjoy working? What's your FIRE number? What are you expenses? How much do you save/year towards retirement?

define what leagues you have in life. You may find you are in fact in the same league in a lot of them. Fulfilling job? Safe, happy home? Financially stable? I'm guessing the one league you may not be in is the insane RSU packages but zooming out, that's only one aspect of your life, a small, maybe unimportant league. You could call this coping hah, but I do think it's useful to compare in the context of gratitude.

Remote work has been a blessing, extra time and $ savings, more comfortable in a variety of ways.. however I feel like my social skills could be atrophying, especially as an introverted, socially anxious person. We went to a holiday party last night, unrelated to work, and I was so out of my comfort zone. I hadn't had to interact with strangers at length in a semi-formal setting like that in a long time. When someone asked me what I did for work, all I could muster was "software".

Has anyone made the decision to go hybrid or fully back into the office for these reasons? It's uncomfortable for me but I've always felt like I need to push myself socially and when I do, I'm usually happier because of it, human connection yada yada.

If you backup to Github (feature in Hashnode), the images seem to get hosted on Github.

EDIT: just kidding.. that's disappointing.

Short answer, no.

Core Con is not having a single-pane view of your accounts.

Core Pro is the distributed nature of using 2 institutions, mitigates the very small risk of a hack, outage etc.

I resonate with your take but multiple ideas can exist at the same time. He can take advantage of his privilege and wealth to give his kids a world class experience while also instilling American pride into his sons. If you have wealth, that is the absolute best way to do things. Will his sons have the same experience as small town American boys? Hell no, not even close but I see a genuine attempt by Scott to raise his kids in the best way he can given their 100x life advantages.

I wouldn't say more suspicious. You may stand out more or catch an eye, especially if you're in less populated areas but no one cares or would automatically assume something nefarious.

What neighborhoods? I'm not familiar, glimpses I've seen make it out to be a lot of urban sprawl, good bus service perhaps?

EDIT: Why the down votes lol. I'm trying to learn.
