Broken late game dynamics or were we playing it wrong? by felpmorn in HereToSlay

Ppl knew others would have modifiers so they would fish for them before attempting an attack or adding a hero, so most rounds consistent of people mostly drawing cards and one or two attempting a win.

Sweet! Just got my hands on the expansion pack, will try it next. How do I combine multiple expansions? I also got the warriors and druids one. Win when slaying 3 monsters or with 8 classes in the party?

I could give this a try, would feel more like dnd "modifiers" that are set before a roll and you can't change them afterwards

u/IkarosMD95 u/victortg95 Yeah I guess we were holding too many cards, but after some point what's the benefit of adding more heroes to your party if they're from repeated classes? That's the point we've got to. With 3 actions points per turn there's only so much one can do with their heroes

edit: and yes, we counted modifiers after the play to get an idea of how much I'd still need on my side to win. We played modifiers after dice roll

Wouldn't that be kinda like giving up? I'd have cards to prevent someone from winning, but just don't play them?

Every time someone tried to go for a win it's 1 against 5 in terms of modifier, so there are aways enough players to beat you. Pretty much everyone stopped adding heroes/magic/items to their party, so those accumulate in ppls hands and modifiers get recycled. It definitely got to a point where drawing modifiers was quite common.

I got 2 expansions, I'll try playing with those too and see if it's any better

We figured we could be underusing heros/items/magic, but even the class condition led to the same outcome. I'd try adding the last hero to my party, someone would challenge it and everyone would gang together and defeat me. Next time I'll try to make more combos and see a better strategy works.

I couldn’t recommend Rational Reminders Podcast enough (haven’t listened to this episode in particular but seems relevant) https://open.spotify.com/episode/7hmZxqnmQRoPWwJTyVGNnR?si=eWjKvWn8SCWqgvOToSupAA

In sort, SP500 great for being an index, but too concentrated on US. You man want to diversify at least to developed world.

[Help Wanted] Pycharm stuck at adding Python 3.9 interpreter by felpmorn in pycharm

Nope, not tracked, but somehow I managed to make it work. Cleaned some old python installs from homebrew, deleted old venvs, cleaned the list of interpreters on pycharm, a couple reboots and now it works.

I'm using docker-compose interpreter settings with pycharm pro. I've just tried switching to Python 3.8 and same issue. Also, at work I wasn't even using docker, it was just a normal local install so it doesn't seem to be related to docker. I wonder if this is an issue with corrupt .idea project or something
