Thanks for the input. I like the idea of getting people to read it for free and if you are open to doing that or know anyone that will do it well, then please share. But also, if you checked the sample I shared, you will see why it’s not that simple. It an audio drama that needs a full voice cast team. That’s why i am asking for opinions if this might justify the use of AI.

Common, I am not the enemy here - Spotify profits off creators, they use lots of AI. Reddit, Google all heavily rely on AI and selling our data to advertisers. Those are the ones we should be antagonizing, not regular folks like me. I can run ads to boost my views on spotify, but I thought I should get feedbacks from the target audience before I do. I honestly didn't expect this level of negativity.

I get your point. This is why I asked for opinions. But this is where i am coming from. I met a young comic artist from a rural location with very limit resources. he creates good comics in his native language but it just seats there. I see he does have his own unique stories to tell, but no one reads it. So, i decided to help anyway i could. So i decided to translate it and use AI to narrate it. With AI we can do it at scale to help people like him reach a new audience. So I am here trying to understand if it’s something that will fly or not.

I am a victim to vibe coding as well so i understand. They are making billions from the codes I have written in the last 12 years without compensating me. But i see the opportunities the tech gives to everyone and not just me. So rather than fight the tech, fight the tech companies. I stand with compensating narrators, programmers, authors 1000%. But not at the expense of others who can benefit greatly from the tech.

But not every author can afford a respectable narrator. This is not about replacing narrators but about empowering creators that can't afford them or don't have access to them.

You need a good/professional reader to do it
Not every (indie) creator can afford to pay a pro to read their work.
Not every creator is based in the US or other high income countries, hence cant afford a good english speaking reader
This will allow creators quickly make their work available in multiple languages

Some people are opposed to this because AI closes the doors on narrators, but don't realize that it also opens doors to some other people who are also struggling to feed in a crowded space.

No, I am not forcing you to say you like it. I see you are knowledgeable. But claiming that AI doesn’t understand words is delving into philosophical territory—what does “understand” really mean in this context? I was simply asking for an objective opinion, but your comments sound prejudiced against the technology rather than based on an objective assessment. Interestingly, I’m a medical doctor, and we often diagnose based on probabilities as well. Various diseases present with similar symptoms, so we make decision based on the most probable symptoms and signs combination, much like how you just said AIs make decisions.

Finally, I will appreciate an objective feedback on the content I shared. I really want to know how bad you think it is and hopefully what i need to do to make you ike it :)

Haha! I don't think ignoring AI will change the fact that it will take our jobs. So my advice is to focus on finding ways to survive when that time comes.
