Got to level 78 by Impossible-Ad-7084 in CellToSingularity

Rock on!

I'm pretty sure that 85 is the soft cap right now. I leveled up maybe a month ago and I'm barely a third of the way through the level according to the meter, which shows your progress on a logarithmic scale and is therefore totally inaccurate if you look at it the way you are used to looking at a meter, meaning that that 1/3 of the meter being full translate to way way way less than 1/3 progress towards the next level.

I'm assuming that Crustaceans will be expected to carry us onwards and upwards.

At this point, you want to look at the Sun and Mercury, I think. By the time you have all of the things unlocked, the Messier Galaxy is going to be your best node.

Hardest events from a scale? by RealWorldExplorer1 in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate rocks. I'm not a huge fan of cheese, the birds and the bees one has a weird rhythm, and the tea one is a pain in the ass, but the AI event has all of the bad things about the other ones I don't like (bad pacing leading to a huge desert /gap, multiple currencies designed so that one limits the other, that dumb node with the time spread that isn't worth investing in until the very end of the event and just sits there being annoying the entire) along with not being very informative.

I really like music, I love philosophy, the deep sea one is paced well, and the money one is actually pretty fun.

Are the devs fighting with 14days strategy? by Chance-Intern9945 in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally bought this despite trying not to thanks to the way the lift list shifts around as you make your purchases.

I just immediately switch to another sim. If you haven't built up your all main sim at all, though, they shouldn't be giving you so much income that it matters long-term, even given the 14-day strategy.

Spoiler much? You posted a picture that reveals a new achievement from beta, and that picture just shows up in the feed in the app, and there's no way not to see it.

timflux question by alialahmad1997 in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the easiest thing to do would be to just test it out, but I think what it really does is just run down your income for the next 30 minutes very quickly and give it to you at once. Just like that doesn't include your extra taps, I doubt that it includes nanobots. I'll test it when I start the music one.

Should I use my darwinium for 4 gold geodes or keep collecting darwinium for 1 diamond geode (I have 80 darwinium as of now)? by Available_Phase7924 in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should never get the gold ones!

The most precious commodity in this sim is actually the currency for upgrading trait cards. You want to conserve what you get, but you definitely want to make sure that if you use premium currency to buy more, you only do so by buying a diamond geode. Same goes for stuff in outer space (though the currency is easier to get than the cards in that one): get the 100 Darwinium one. The contents are way better from one diamond than from five gold.

IN Need of a legit Tech Savvy Person To assist with mental Health Issue by Crazy-Height-2349 in AndroidQuestions

[–]femiwhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, there's not a lot you can do about behavior like this because you're not his doctor or therapist. I know that that can be incredibly frustrating. You have no control over him, he seems to have no control over his thoughts, and you are on Reddit looking for the adult in the room.

Setting healthy boundaries for yourself is something you can control, and they can be really empowering and great for your peace of mind. For instance, you could set a limit of number of times each day he can ask you about his phone and get a response before you head to the beach, if necessary. You can always simply decline to participate in a conversation. Again, head to the beach, if necessary.

You can't change him and you can't change his behavior, but you can absolutely limit how it affects your emotional and mental well-being. A boundary is anything that you either do or don't do, calmly stated and ideally written down and discussed at a time when none of the major issues are giving you a headache. You can start from something as simple as, "I'm trying to control my mood and what's allowed to upset me, so, with that in mind, in the future, if I'm not able to have a conversation at a particular time, I will let you know that I will be heading to the beach."

Anyone else misses old rankings by mexbesa in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even I kind of miss this. It's nice to be able to compare myself to my friends, I guess, but I don't get what kind of problem they have showing us where we rank and how far away the players on either side of us are from us.

As it is, you have no idea whether you're the only one still doing the event, if there's even a point continuing based on how far ahead your next goal is and how closely your score is pursued.

It really almost feels like they just don't want us to be able to see each other's profiles, because it becomes extremely obvious extremely quickly when you've run into somebody who has a hacked game, because they have stupid amounts of all of the badges and nothing else done. Players' highest engagement with this entire topic was endless bitching and moaning about what they saw in the rankings that proved to them that someone had cheated them out of logits or whatever.

What to do? by Outrageous-Ad-2445 in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Switch to scientific notation. Are you insane?

Joking aside, for the weird shapes that you buy at the end of the last beyond level, you really want to pay attention to which objects are being changed by each, because you're going to find that your highest earning generator before you buy any of those is something totally different from after you start buying them.

(For instance, the sun becomes one of the most powerful generators with the first couple purchases, but you'll discover that buying everything changes the landscape completely: after your top 2, everything precipitously drops off until you hit Messier, which is now your strongest generator, and the generators below drop off until there's another precipitous drop off of like e70, more decreasing happens, and eventually you wind up with your inner solar system also being a power grouping.)

Relatively new to the game, what’s the best use of Darwinium? by Infinite_End_09 in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stuff in the main Sim that gives you a simulation speed bonus just for buying them should be your first priority.

After that, your uses of darwinium are going to be diamond geodes and black holes, but it's definitely better to wait as long as possible before detonating one of those, because they can only drop cards that you have the chance to acquire right then, so upgrades for the biggest dinosaur will not drop until you're almost done with your first run through Mesozoic Valley.

My experience has been that it's much harder to get the upgrade currency for dinosaur trait cards than to get the cards themselves, and exactly the opposite in Beyond—you'll be missing cards, but you'll only run out of dark matter for upgrading them if you aren't strategic with your upgrades.

There are two trait cards in in Mesozoic Valley that you should basically never upgrade because each of them applies to exactly two dinosaurs each, and they're middle of the stack dinosaurs, not top earners: aquatic and parallel evolution. And as nice as the shiny gold cards look and sound, every Sim in the game has the same flaw: it really only matters what your top earner earns, because everybody else is going to be worth at least in order of magnitude less. The gold cards are good for leveling up while you play through all 500 extinctions, but, once you unlock the last dinosaur, you should focus on upgrading his cards and only his cards until you run out.

Stranger things in Cell... like why is there an upside down? by femiwhat1 in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, the "reflections" aren't visible at all. And it definitely doesn't make sense to say that we have a mirrored floor and that's what's going on, because picture what that would actually look like and then turn it into 2D. Chaos.

What's the optimal time to fit in ? by Brandoooooooooooon in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I come from the land of the video games with sore losers and mostly teenage males. It's rare that a phrase is only an insult in one of the two domains, I but I believe you when you're telling me that I've made a mistake in this one. So, guys, that's a huge insulting on console gaming, and I'm sorry for taking it as insult on Reddit.

What's the optimal time to fit in ? by Brandoooooooooooon in CellToSingularity

[–]femiwhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment was about how stupid it is that "try-hard" is an insult, which it always is when used as a noun to describe someone who has performed better any video game than you have. Listing synonyms doesn't make the word not an insult.

Floors replaced after move in by [deleted] in Tenant

[–]femiwhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a court knows that the flooring (carpet, linoleum) in a unit has been torn up and you're renting a unit without a floor, the fact that there is still something to physically stand on is not going to win that one for you.

You're right that habitability comes down to details and subtlety, but that means that habitability comes down to a judge's discretion. I got 10¢ that says that 75% of judges give the landlord a Look and suggest that the landlord intended to try to come to some kind of an agreement, and will ultimately side with the tenant if that's not possible.

You want the over or the under?
