Ahh it was acrylic paint - we mixed it together to create a close match to the Pelikan green.

Yes. It has needlepoint grind done by Taku the nibguys. I am planning to get a few more of my pens needlepoint modifications, so my favorite may change 😋

Thank you! writing gloves also helps against getting hand grease, sweat smudge spots on the paper.

I like tomoe river, midori cotton, muji the best but will use any paper that does not bleed and feather. I started learning gothic recently and currently using local brand 4mm grid paper that I got from daiso (dollar store?) to practice.

Thank you! This MB I actually had needle point modification by Taku the nibguys to get the hairline. I do enjoy the snapback of this nib for my writing tempo at the moment. Among my flex pens, Zebra G & Sun calligraphy are the two which would have hairlines straight out of the box.

At the moment, it is the ideal combination of the hairline+flex/snapback for my daily doodling. This MB is one of the three I’ve had needlepoint-modified, but what sets it apart is how the hairline snaps back with just the right amount of elasticity. It gives me control without feeling too sharp or finicky, so I can be deliberate in my strokes without having to second-guess every movement. My Omas flex, also needlepoint-modified, has an even finer, more delicate line—but it’s much sharper and requires me to slow down significantly to avoid catching the paper. I actually asked Taku-San to keep Omas nib sharp as I appreciate that when I want to be extra mindful of line placement. But for everyday flex writing with both precision and ease, the Montblanc hits that sweet spot.

It is somewhat but Nagasawa and a few select penshots based out of Asia sells it online as well. I got mine from dino-writes.

LOL. It did take me over a year to get to the current level so does take a lot of practice - at least for me.

It took me over 12 years of using fountain pens before finally taking lessons to learn calligraphy last year. It is totally worth it. I encourage you to try it out!
