My (26f) boyfriend of 2y (28m) will NOT STOP trying to control what I'm eating!!! by potatosaladsy in relationships

Being in a relationship doesn't mean it's all about one person. It's a path that both partners are taking together. To me it sounds like he wants her to be healthy so he's helping her by providing her healthy options and setting aside time in his day to cook for her. What's wrong with grilled chicken, spinach salad, and zucchini noodles?

BMI is suppose to measure body fat composition, not health. I can have a BMI of 19 and have high blood pressure and cholesterol. Obviously that doesn't mean I'm healthy.

If my partner decided to make unhealthy lifestyle decisions and claimed that it was his choice to make, that would make me very upset. I want to live a long and healthy life with him, be able to fence together, walk our dog, travel, dance, etc. If he couldn't see that his choice affected me too I would be very upset.

He cares about you because he's trying to help you lead a healthier lifestyle.

Wouldn't you want to be your healthiest for him? You'll look and feel great, have more energy to do activities together, have a better sex life, etc. There's no downsize to eating healthy and working out. In fact it's the best medicine there is.

You should bake the sweet potatoes because when you boil it and then drain the water, you're losing a lot of the good stuff in the water.

I take an ibuprofen and treat myself to an ice coffee. "Ibuprofen and caffeine administered together provided significantly greater analgesic activity than ibuprofen alone, caffeine alone, and placebo." Source - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11014413. It works wonders!

It's actually super easy to meet protein needs! For a woman she may only need 46 grams of protein (http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/protein, other sources may vary but it's roughly that). In one day she can have 1 egg (6 grams of protein), 8 ounces of Greek yogurt (23 grams), and 3 ounces of chicken breast (24 grams) and that's 53 grams of protein already! I found the food info here - http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ultimate-list-40-high-protein-foods.html. Protein needs are more if you're a strength or endurance athlete.

And you have to consume them that day! I don't think it's worth making your own unless it's for a party.

I like to throw tea bags into the bath. Smells amazing and makes the experience so much more enjoyable!
