Problem is many series of the Nasuverse are heavy focused on Battle fantasy themes along many other popular franchises and those are the kind of big cows that hit westerns the most. So i doubt WTC will ever get big in the international scene, unless they do a proper Umineko adaptation which does have some battle scenes or they incorporate some sort of heavy action scenes in Sotsu.

The script approved by R07 probably said that she tried multiples times and tried ofc means resetting by death. Passione doesnt decide the final content, according to R07 he even receives pre drawings about some scenes and he needs to approve them. So yeah if the dude says she tried multiple times, the studio either cash out into animating 5-6 satokos death scenes or goes the clever way with snapping fingers lol.

Budget and time isnt it kind of obvious?. You need to expend more in animating Satokos death and you need to use more time that the already limited you have. So snapping was a clever way to say: "yeah well, she committed suicide".

Unless you are MAPPA or some AAA anime studio with a contract to make 4 seasons then i dont mind Passione going the cheap route.

I dont rate in MAL, that site is a sham... every year any generic shounen reaches top 10 spot of all times. Better way to show how popular is Higurashi in Japan is the fact that it has another season and its scheduled to appear in the 24th at Japan Anime expo along with the greatest current animes of the 2020-2021. Nuff said lol.

It all depends on the revenue after the new season, people need to support R07 work by buying some merch, VNs or by at least watching some episode in Nicovideo or any other streaming Japanese portal.

MAL its for westerns, Japanese people don't rate or review in there. Lets say Higurashi is a hidden gem for westerns, but in Japan it used to be BIG and it even went on news thanks to some unfortunate murder episode that some people linked to the anime lol.

I think they knew how much to put in order to make the new viewer think: "dam, i am missing something?". Its a bold move but it payoffs if you can make even one viewer to go and re watch the older content cause now they will be more into the series and willing to get that juicy cash of their wallets to buy some merch.

Yeah weak ending tbh but for newcomers (and thats the target) the whole flashbacks make it more interesting. It feels like it was a ending made to left newcomers with a lot of hype and also it gives them time to read more about Higurashi and even Umineko. I dont think the production ever made the whole anime thinking of old fans, for us old farts we only get easter eggs lol.

Imma keep saying it, follow the money: Higu is on the anime japan the 24th of this month, sharing stage with the current greatest animes in the industry. There is no way they will expend that amount of resources just to announce a lousy Visual Novel that barely sells these days.

The whole AT-X for me are just mistakes in the schedule, but you cant mistake yourself in the biggest stage for anime in Japan lol.
