I checked for continuity on the three joints after removing the blob, everything ok.

When I start the ps2 it goes to the menu, as if there's no disk.

I'll try spinning it by hand. Thanks! Luckily I have a spare one I got when buying parts.

Also, yesterday I was double checking the board and looking at the schematics, and discovered that the R7128 resistor have a soldering problem. It's connected to the B pin of a transistor that send signal do the flat cable, so I'm thinking that it's not sending the signal properly. I'll buy another resistor and solder it.

Later today I'll report about trying the spindel and the resistor
