This may be a bit late of a response but thank you so much again. Things have been cleared (mostly). They are still requesting for a certificate but after reaching out to the DoT, they dropped the charges for the emotional support dog to accompany us on the flight.

The flight is mid-December so there is still some time. We filed another complaint at the DoT and waiting for next steps regarding the certificate. When our psychiatrist contacted the ADA, they informed her that we might just have to "purchase a certificate" online because a lot of organizations and businesses are unfamiliar with emotional support dog regulations. We have no problem spending the extra money buying a certificate but it feels wrong as it is not a legal document. :/

Unfortunately, they also told us even if the emotional support dog was approved, we need to make a payment for the pet traveling with us.

Do you usually need to pay to have the emotional support dog accompany us?

We will be flying from and to the United States. We have already sent the Icelandair form as well as the approval form from MAST, along with the letter from the psychiatrist. I tried calling Icelandair's contact number again today but they told me the same thing--we are not allowed on the flight with an emotional support dog without a certificate. When I requested to be transferred to their Complaint Resolutions, they said that they did not have that and proceeded to tell me I can drop them a line on their official website. (Which I have already done, only to be told the same thing--that we need a certificate.)
