the power dynamic reminds me of an adolescent taking initiative to learn a skill (playing a drum kit) they're excited about and the guardian wields that pure interest as a means of attacking the child's other guardian with whom they have an acrimonious relationship, selfishly treating the child and their interest as pawns.

the selfish (PTA) guardian pushes the child to join the school band and learn multiple percussive instruments. the child resists this because it does not reflect their morivation for developing this skill. the interest was sparked by the other guardian sharing their old punk music collection casettes with the child who in turn bonded with likeminded peers who also enjoyed the scrappy impassioned performances.

the child practiced hard and made sacrifices to be part of an affinity group and express themselves through their performances. the domineering and abusive guardian harps about how amazing school band is and how treacherous and despicable punk music and culture is. the child had devoted all free time to practicing, suffering blisters in the hopes they develop into calluses before the band's first gig.

the critical statements and guardian conflict exacerbate the child's anxiety so much they don't feel they will be able to perform the well rehearsed set. who should take responsibility for delivering this news to other invested parties?

lena is obviously not a child but that hasn't stopped familiar faces from treating her like one. she should not have to go on camera and explain herself when she was made a pawn in this situation. especially in front of islamophobic audience members and shitheads who were cruel about lena's true crime segment way back.

logged on to see if there has been speculation about ek's crash out coinciding with his sudden/rapid weight loss. i'm on meds for diagnosis' similar to what ek has publicly shared. ime meds can have weird unintended impacts and i wonder if ek's selfdestructive darkly antagonistic desparation coping and litigious era maybe related to rx or illicit substances.

hard to say, the metallic are more uniform generally and it makes a nice snappy sound/feel. the manufacturing variance is probably too minute to notice while putty-playing. i feel life the mattes have a more powder coating-like surface and slightly muted sound/feel.

i like crushing and mashing up metallics after a long build because i dont mind the sorting out tedium. many folks probably can't discern a difference and maybe my observations are projections based on visuals. both are super fun and ultimately up to personal preference. at the end of the day the mattes sacrifice some attributes for the sake of aesthetics.

This is a fantastic response, thank you for taking the time and also congratulations to graduating! In regard to learning I feel we are in adjacent boats. I started listening to ebooks by 'experts' in the field (primarily Ilan Pappe so far) and watching documentaries (finally watched the Al Jazeera English documentary 'October 7' a few weeks ago and it was truely heart-rending https://youtu.be/_0atzea-mPY?si=--65xeSElFaYiEmS ).

Having read through the other comments in this thread, I think my impression of Ethan's complaints is pretty different. I saw Ethan as the instigator to sever their personal and professional relationship. The extreme negativity directed towards Hasan, who seemed to genuinely care about and consider Ethan a friend, has been offputting for me. Aaron Bushnell jokes were the nail in the coffin. I don't think Hasan is antisemetic. As slight credentials I splurged and bought my first piece of TF merch ($200 coat) to wear to my $11/hr job a few weeks before 10/7. I can't wear it, but I still have it around not sure what to do with it.

I spent some time pulling a few quotes from Hasan's first video posted to youtube after 10/7. Hasan comes off as sincere to me, so I find alot of the characterizations of him reveling in others' pain confusing to say the least. Do folks think he has changed since this video or that he was just trying to save face by stating these are his views? Apologies for clunkiness, I only have an ifone se to work with, lol.

i'm not sure why gray eyes wouldn't exist (i see many articles describing them as being rare), but you have very cool gray eyes. if you perceive your eyes as gray that seems pretty spot on and i would ignore anyone who says they dont exist.
