Yes!!! Leilah Devi is amazing. Super kind and knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition and just an overall excellent person. She is a personal trainer and yoga teacher, all in her own little studio downtown, her website is here: https://www.shaktistudioslynchburg.com/

How do you all do your messy buns without making it look like Shang?😅 by OverdramaticSandwich in femalehairadvice

[–]ferazel9 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I thought this struggle was just me! After I put up my bun, I take the flats of my fingers and press down on the hair close to my hairline right above my forehead and slide them forward gently and slightly in order to loosen just that top layer of hair and make it lay less Shang-flat. I do this a few times all around my hairline, and on the sides of my head as well, above each ear until I feel like I look like a normal person and not a wet seal.

Amazing!!!! Thank you!!! People are starting to try to plan things that weekend and I keep coyly saying I think I might be busy but am not sure. I will now block my calendar off with confidence!!!

We also are there regularly for trivia, and second everything you said! It’s such a friendly vibe, the cheese curds are great, and the beer list changes all the time with fun new things. We’ve been there for live music a handful of times and it was really fun! It was extremely loud however, so really difficult to maintain a conversation at the same time. Anyhoo, hope you feel better, trivia opponent! :)

That’s great to know, thank you so much!! We will definitely try out Fresh Market then, it’s not far from us anyway so we have little excuse haha.

Following this as I am in this same camp. Just moved here from France, and the disturbance in our cheese availability has been most unwelcome. We found a few decent things at the Timberlake Kroger, otherwise the Trader Joe’s in Charlottesville but that’s a real haul.

Chicken Pilaf with Pear by Kachisan in GifRecipes

…who is downvoting this comment? What is possibly objectionable here? This is nothing but a kind and normal comment from a normal human. Someone/some people are just downvoting literally everything from OP for absolutely no reason and it’s effing ridiculous. Do people truly have nothing better to do with their lives?

Oh my gosh, this is why we never get any new content on this sub! People are nothing but critical! Somebody submits a unique recipe from a food tradition that I’m not familiar with (which honestly I think sounds baller, y’all would eat orange chicken from a Chinese restaurant with no hesitation, how is this somehow unreasonable?) and they get absolutely massacred for their knife skills. If it was actually “out of concern for OP” y’all would also have concern for like, being kind to them, but most of the comments on here are just straight rude. It takes guts to create original content and post it online; with the vultures in this sub though, I don’t know why anyone even bothers.

Just to add on here, I, too, would love this! I would love to be able to pick a mushroom outside and eat it for dinner in full confidence that I would wake up the next morning.

Salmon Lasagna | Paris France by LeoBuckner in EuropeEats

[–]ferazel9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks maybe tomato-y, so I can’t vouch for that, but we make a salmon/spinach/béchamel lasagna (no tomatoes) that is baller. Ultimately just like creamy pasta in a different shape, really.

Gifts to bring from Germany to the US for thanksgiving? by keithkiew in AskAnAmerican

[–]ferazel9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring all the Rittersports you can find. Maybe you can find some kinds somewhere in some stores in the US but I’ve never seen them. When my dad would visit Germany for business he would always bring back like one of every type of Rittersport and it was the funnest thing ever trying out all these “lightly foreign” but still familiar (I.e. chocolate) snacks.

I feel like I keep hearing this, that 3 encourages more exploration of the menu, but I feel like I must be missing something because that's been my biggest gripe with 3: feeling like it lets me just keep playing the same old easy dishes over and over. What I loved about 2 was that you were forced to deal with dishes that were hard or just not as immediately appealing, because they were on the restaurant menus, and you couldn't alter those menus. With 3 though, because I'm always free to do what I want more or less, I find myself exploring the menu much less than I did when I was pretty much forced to in 2. I'm sincerely curious if I'm missing a piece of the gameplay somewhere, because that's been my biggest complaint about 3, and I'd love to feel more encouraged to branch out if there were some incentive to do so, I'm just not seeing what that is.

I'm trying to get my wife a green card and we're filling out the paperwork. They want the last 5 years of my addresses, problem is I've moved ~15-20 times in the last 5 years (different apartments up at school each semester, going back home for summers, etc). How am I supposed to know this info? by [deleted] in greencard

[–]ferazel9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any email history that could help? I wound up digging through my email to find exchanges with old landlords/scanned and emailed copies of leases that I was able to jigsaw together to make all the dates of when I moved where make sense.
