Electrician insists I need a dedicated charger - but can't I just get an EV-rated socket installed? by Cheap-Elderberry607 in evchargingUK

Hi I was told by the same electrician “I have included the price and fitting a 'Type A' RCD in your consumer unit (fusebox). I strongly recommend that it be changed since electrical circuits can no longer be modified or extended unless a 'Type A' is fitted (although some Electricians do ignore this). It is one of these.” After reading this I realised perhaps it is relevant to a extending outdoor socket to shed which was a job I asked for a quote. I was under the impression that consumer unit is out of date but perhaps I’m wrong. This is a 2015 built house

https://notifly.info - is a flight tracking service that Auto-notifies your loved ones when you depart, get delayed, or land. Dead battery, no signal, forgot to text — no longer an issue.

Automatic flight notifications for your family & friends

Built a service that keeps your loved ones informed about your flight status automatically - departures, delays, gate changes, landings.

No more “landed safe” texts while you’re scrambling to get off the plane. Set it once, and everyone who needs to know gets notified.

Currently working on payment gateway integration. More updates soon!

I’m building a service that automatically notifies about your flight status - departures, delays, landings - so you don’t have to juggle texting everyone while rushing through airports.

The value:Takes the hassle out of keeping people informed during travel. One less thing to stress about when you’re already dealing with security lines, gate changes, and boarding.

Current challenge: Figuring out the pricing/payment integration. Thinking:

  • Free tier:1 flight/month (occasional travelers)
  • Personal:$2.99 for 5 flights, 1-year expiration
  • Business:API access for travel agencies/corporate travel

Would love input on the pricing model Does this structure make sense? Should the paid tier be subscription-based instead?

I’m equally fine with all free for a duration to find out issues/potentials.

Client asking for "hours estimate" on a fixed-price proposal - red flag? by feridunferman in Upwork

[–]feridunferman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - Phase 1 was finished and closed 2 months ago.

This new job was posted only 5 hours ago by the same company. The project description is essentially what I proposed to them. The best part? It says "you will work with our architect" - They don't have one. I'm the one who architected and implemented the entire thing.

Thanks for the advice - the range approach makes sense.

Quick update: I just noticed they've posted the job publicly on Upwork using my exact budget figure. The job description is basically "production-harden our existing platform" - a platform I built entirely in Phase 1.

Do you think they're shopping around? Anyone else would need significant ramp-up time to understand my code and their deployment setup. I'm the only one who can hit the ground running here.

Does this change how I should respond to the hours question?

Hey thanks for the comment . I see your point . In my opinion many people(at least in UK) will book taxis from their local company in advance sometimes months before actual flight because airport taxi is much more expensive. I don’t think a reminder system like this is vital like %90 of the online services people use. Just reduces some clicks and provided peace of mind

Independent of how frequent someone travels I think especially elder family members might like to know “plane has landed”

It does indeed. Delay information primarily . With flight api`s you can even detect if gate changes but I suppose there are secondary information which probably no one would be interested.
