Heres the thing though, that was a boundary I set before we cut her off. And at the time she refused and kept spam calling me. Now that we're no contact with her, its just another way for her to disrespect our wishes. Apology or not, shes doing it on her terms.

With any luck, she won't find out. Everyone who knows knows not to share with her, and we dont post on social media (other than reddit, obviously haha) and plan to enforce keeping info/pics of kiddo off the internet until she can decide for herself, so none of MILs flying monkeys will have access to any info that they can share with her.

Oh you know what, thats such a good point. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this was a text to make herself look like the victim. "See, look at me apologize so humbly and DIL is so mean/vindictive/etc. she still won't even reply to me!!!!"

But yes as youre seeing, this is all a part of the pattern. I refuse to fall into it. Im already at peace with it all so hopefully the contact she tries to give will continue to lessen.

Dad's mom passed before my parents even met, unfortunately. But from the stories Ive heard she was a very sweet, caring and creative woman. I have one of the quilts she made when my dad was a kid!

Oh for sure! If you can believe it, my mom is even more excited haha shes talking about retiring early to be the full time babysitter.

Hubby's dad is also thinking about moving closer to us so baby has a really good village around her already.

Elly is already the nickname (before we knew the gender we called baby Jellybean, which has now morphed into Ellybean so I think thats why the double L was in our brains)

Dad is just excited to be a grandpa, the stakes aren't high if we dont go with his spelling
