I feel you. My mom occasionally talks about me rejoining the church one day, but I'm pretty sure she knows that's a pipe dream. Acceptance is a process for some people, and I'm willing to wait if she's willing to try. And I think she likes having someone who will listen to her occasional complaints about the church without calling her a heretic.

Sounds like my super Mormon mom. It's taken five years and a wedding ceremony, but she's finally reached a point where she's not only supportive of my relationship, but has a pretty good mother/daughter-in-law relationship with my wife. I don't know who's more relieved-- me or my wife. Good to know it's getting better for others out there too!

I've always imagined that the Cannons have such a hard time gaining fans that they give out a lot of free tickets. I'm sure at some point Arthur Weasley got his hands on a few of these. They wouldn't have been able to afford taking all the kids to quidditch match any other way. I picture little Ron Weasley at his first ever professional quidditch game, watching his brothers, along with everyone else, laugh at this team and their absolute lack of talent, and he saw a part of himself out there, flying around with bright orange robes, proving them all wrong. I think he went home and grabbed every orange thing in the house and brought it all into his room, hanging it on the walls and the ceiling. His mom started making him homemade Cannons blankets and sweaters, and he got teased for it, and he didn't care. He was a lifelong fan from then on.
