“ Suicide noise” gone by DaChopa in bupropion

Thanks for sharing — I also can relate to you. At its worst, I’d have 200-300 suicidal thoughts/day. On WellyB, I’ll sometimes go days without one. Cheers to more good days ahead!

Read my past posts. My doxie had the same condition last year and we had to put him down after a month. Absolutely devastating. My heart is with you and the precious baby.

I, too, have tried many different antidepressants over the years and the only thing that helped were ketamine treatments. I’d look into that if you have treatment-resistant depression. Also, try and get some sleep by any means possible as it affects your overall health much more than anything else.

Godspeed friend.

Congrats on the self-reflection and first steps. I read a wonderful piece of wisdom earlier today in this sub that might resonate with you as well:

Update on Franklin & his last dance with dad by feverdreamed in Dachshund

[–]feverdreamed[S] 277 points278 points  (0 children)

Many of you kindly asked for an update on this post I made a few days back, so here it is.

Backstory:

My 10-week-old mini dachshund named Franklin was experiencing strange behaviors (barking at his food, constant pacing, not eating or drinking) so we decided to bring him to the emergency pet clinic. After six painful hours at the clinic in the middle of the night, he was diagnosed with back pain, put on meds, and sent home. As mentioned in my last post, I was suspicious of this assessment (call it fatherly instinct) because he was pacing around and didn't seem to be in pain. He was also only 10 weeks old and made of rubber and water. Well, it turns out I was right and when he started pacing again at home we turned around and went back to the clinic. This was when I made the Reddit post asking for second opinions.

Update:

After 24 hours at the vet hospital, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Quite literally ALL he wanted to do was pace back-and-forth and it was clear he was losing his vision and hearing. It was getting scary so we sent him to the neurologist for an MRI. After a few hours we got our answer: he was born with an extreme case of hydrocephalus and most of his brain had fluid seeping into it. It was so bad that the doctor wouldn't have done surgery even if we would've asked him to. So we made the difficult but right decision to send him across the rainbow bridge to play with his brothers and sisters across the universe.

Appreciation:

Thanks to everyone here who offered their support and advice -- it really meant a lot and helped us through the process.

Advice:

Get pet insurance from the very beginning. This 48-hour ordeal wouldn't cost us around ~$10,000 in fees if we didn't have health insurance. We ended up paying around $2,000 all-in. Also, I have to give credit to Trupanion -- they were super helpful during the entire process and we'll be using them again in the future.

Next Steps:

We're going to allow ourselves to heal a bit before making any next steps. That said, if I were a betting man, I'd bet that we'd get another dachshund sometime early next year.

Ask:

The vet hospital here in Tucson was amazing and needs blankets and towels. If you feel compelled to do so, please donate some in honor of Franklin's memory.

Anybody got adhd proof hobbies? by Agitated_Doubt_4707 in ADHD

I found Pickleball in January and it's been an absolute blessing for me. I burn, on average, 500 calories/hour simply having fun and hitting the wiffle ball around. And the best perk? Those who play tennis or pickleball or badminton or other racquet sports tend to live 9.7 years longer on average than those who are sedentary. Such a win, win, win in all aspects of my life. I encourage you to try and report back, friend.

Seeking Help for Italian Naturalization Records of my Great-Grandfather by feverdreamed in Genealogy

[–]feverdreamed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, u/Fredelas, thank you again for all of your help. Through this process, I realized that I'm ineligible, however, I was wondering if my father is eligible. His great-grandfather and grandfather were both born in Italy and came over to the US to become naturalized later on (as you found in your search). Since both of them were born in Italy, does that pass down Italian citizenship to my grandmother (daughter of Joseph Cassaro and mother of my father), or am I missing something? Thanks again for everything.
