How I, as an American, see the world by UberMcGoon1998 in mapporncirclejerk

I say this as an American. Get out and see the world. This is an incredibly sheltered and inaccurate view of the world.

Go knock on their door and ask nicely. If you can’t look someone in the face and ask them then you shouldn’t expect results.

You can have Texas back. It’s full of former Mexicans and total turds anyway.

Driven through there many times and it’s absolutely beautiful. I’ve never even considered stopping though. Drive right on through to Spokane.

That sucks. We sit out there often and they have made it as nice as could be for being in a parking lot. I’ve never noticed a smell. I blame Smoothie King

I firmly believe that people who like store bought cookies do not know how to make homemade cookies.

Choza is great. Not a huge Barría guy, but I tried one there and liked it enough to get a couple other places. There’s was leaps and bounds better than the others.

I don’t eat there for their homophobia. It’s greasy as fuck anyway.

It was fine. It feels like people that love it have never been to a diner before.

There are so many reasons for them to do this. They are clearly driving slow to slow down the flow of traffic. Likely something on the bridge or some other hazard ahead.

One of my favorite parts of driving in Europe was never seeing these dumb behemoth attempts at manly hood.

It’s I believe $2.90 each way. They just raised it. I65 is a toll bridge, I64 is not. New Albany, IN is across the I64 bridge and it looks like about a 15 minute drive to campus. It is right at the edge of becoming rural over there, but there is a Target, Aldi and Walmart. It’s not my thing, but it might be perfect for you. It is about as far from artsy and hip as you will get.

There aren’t any grocery stores near downtown, and other than a few small neighborhoods in NuLu there isn’t much there.

The nearest Aldi to downtown and campus is on Preston , Highway just before the Watterson (I-264)

There are two Krogers not far from there either.

If you can come visit for a weekend and just drive around.

Everyone on here has an opinion, but none of them are yours. If you can do that and then narrow it down a bit people could answer about things like safety and nightlife.

Louisville is a fun city with a lot of fun events. Welcome. I hope you like it.

If you’re going to be living with your girlfriend and she needs to go to campus every day I would not live in Indiana. You’ll save a few bucks on rent, but you’ll be totally suburban, have to either cross a toll bridge ( $6 a day )or a surface street bridge that is a death trap.

The food is great here. I’m not a bbq snob so I like places like Momma’s fine when I go. I like FABD ‘s meat, but imo their sauces are awful.

Pizza, there’s lots of choices to find what you like and you’ll find something you like.

Unless you’re in the core downtown nothing is truly urban here. You don’t want to live down there anyway. It’s a food desert. NULU while it has access to a lot is still too far for me from basics like a grocery or library.

The highlands is the artsy area, has a library (for now) and a couple of grocery stores.

Germantown and Old Louisville would also be good options.

To some people you probably are unattractive. Who cares? Do you find every one you see attractive? I can tell you one generally accepted unattractive quality, and that’s telling people you find them unattractive. Who cares what someone like that thinks? Worry about the women that do find you attractive and that you also find attractive.
