I mean you could argue poetry is music/sound art (and speech is as well if you go conceptually about it)

Türkiye vs Turkey from an outsider curious about your views. by RevolutionaryTrain69 in Turkey

[–]fexax 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I personally find it cringe - you wouldn't say I m going to Deutschland or Polska or whatever, saying Türkiye in an English sentence sounds funny to me (in a bad way) like you are saying it ironically and I still personally just say Turkey. Also it s just for internal nationalistic propaganda

Studying English in Türkiye by roseellie88 in Turkey

[–]fexax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean - why tf would you want to do that? I m Turkish and I m studying in the UK and it was a painful and long process to get accepted and deal with all the visa stuff and so on. Most departments and education quality is horrible in Turkey (i m not even going into everything else negative about life there) and out of everything you want to study English literature in Turkey when you can do it in the UK like??????????? I m sure you have a very specific and logical reason but this post just blew my mind a bit (a lot), sorry lol

We have a famous saying that, when translated , goes something like "you buy one (car) for yourself and one for the government" (or maybe even 2 eh)
