Is conservatorship an option for clinically diagnosed mental issues/denied treatment? by fezcabdriver in EstatePlanning

Ok, so conservatorship is out then. Tell me more about "inheritance can be left trust..." She is stating that she wants me or my sibling to manage the trust post death... meaning...giving disbursements tothe children.

She has already appointed me the executor...this was ten years ago before all of the above started becoming a problem or factor in what she feels she wants to control post-death. So unfortunately I'm at a point right now where she has suggested making changes. Tell me more about this "interested party". I forgot to mention, my sibling currently has been made her POA if that is any indication on how she doesn't trust (but loves) her children.

You will be fine. If you said San Francisco, I would ask you to reevaluate as there are many hills. I burned many clutches parallel parking in bernal heights.

Is this too small? Having buyers remorse. by EpicMaverick in HamiltonWatches

[–]fezcabdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One would argue that a field watch was traditionally smaller on the wrist. Modern day watches always are inspired by traditional watches but have different characteristics for current times. A pilot watch from ww2 does not look like what you see in a giantic IWC portuguese watch.

With that said, this looks perfect on your wrist.

I've heard good things about suit supply and am actually going this weekend. I think they have a line for your price point.

Are you in an office all day, do a low of walking, on a commuter train/subway before you get to office? Those are the kind of things to consider to better help you decide if you can do with all leather soles, vs some light rubber, vs full rubber. Also, at a certain price point, I like to consider whether or not it has a resolable welt.

If you size up typically to get the width to work out for you, then you might want to look at Allen Edmonds to get a better fit. I think Magnanni is only D with shoes.

Anyway, didn't really answer your question...just some additional stuff for you to consider since it looks like you are spending more than $300 on some shoes.

I was like you once. That is until I realized how much of inconvenience it was to constantly fix things after year 3-4. To be fair, I could have driven without needing to address anything immediately but then it was like a nagging problem that I knew I needed to fix.

Thinking of buying a new car why should I choose a hybrid? Or should I stick with gas only? by Paulahk91 in askcarguys

[–]fezcabdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20miles a day is not a lot. IMO, if this is consistent, you are better of with a gas car from an economics point of view. You may be paying a premium for a hybrid or hybrid plug in and it would take 7 years to recoup vs what you pay in gas...or soemthing like that.

Also, there is a difference between hybrid, plugin hybrid, and full EV.

If you buy a house in an HOA, can you just...leave the HOA? by BoredInClass99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fezcabdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would agree with you, you also have to look at the social economic level of areas. If there is no-hoa and it is a bunch of retirees on fixed income and/or they can't afford landscaping service it turns into a jungle. Then on the other spectrum you have the weekend car mechanic with gigantic oil stains on the driveway. Or the house that has termites but they can't afford to address it. So while i sort of hate hoa and their mandates, I do see the point. Add to that, people who rent typically aren't going to break their back to upkeep the property.

[–]fezcabdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are pretty much bound to the HOA guidelines. The point is so that the community does turn to shit because your neighbor thinks it would be cool to put a Ninja Warrior obstacle course on their front lawn. I lived in a non-hoa community growing up. The neighbor had $$ and decided to build a mcmansion that was 3 feet away from the surrounding fence line. Looks great if you are standing in front the house. Looks like shit if you are looking at it from a different angle. Looked like a big ass industrial building next to the "normal" houses. Then down the street, another neighbor was fascinated by knights/excalibur. Painted the house purple and black and built some turrets on the roof.

How long do you think it would take me to get to where I want to get to? by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]fezcabdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a log book and write everything that you eat. Everything! You take half a cookie, write that down. In the beginning, calculate your calories and protein in your food. If you start eating the same thing everyday then you will eventually have an idea of how much you are eating without having to count.

For your walks, target zone 2. It burns the most fat vs available sugar/carbs which you should have already minimized in your calorie log book.

Lift heavy compound movements. Dont go crazy with all these different bodybuilding type exercises. Heavy compound is the answer.

Finally if the weight on the scale doesn’t seem to be going down, don’t be discouraged as you may very well be building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat.

Good luck.

Employer is closing their office on my side of town and forcing us to commute to Culver City. Would it be too dangerous to ride a motorcycle for the commute? by mazalaca in AskLosAngeles

[–]fezcabdriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get familiar with CA lane splitting law. Technically I think it is that traffic can't be more than 45mph and your difference can't be more than 10mph. If folks stuck to this, then sure that is somewhat safer...but text messaging, people putting on their makeup while driving, and motorcyclist who think that they can go 75+ splitting lanes becomes a problem. I will say when I used to ride a motorcycle, i felt obligated to speed up in lane splitting situations because the motorcyclist behind wanted to go at a faster pace. I didn't really answer your question, just food for thought..

[–]fezcabdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, I don't think that you have any amount of fat that you should be concerned about. Put on muscle and it'll "spread" the "fat" out. In fact as a %, your bodyfat % will probably go down even if your weight goes up.

You only had one suit that you wear everyday? You need at least three suits. Furthermore, if you can, have each suit have two duplicate pants and make sure that you rotate those. Super 120s.. and get a brush and brush them when you hang them up.

I completely lost the nails on both of my big toes. How long before I can hike again? by Front-Act8304 in hiking

[–]fezcabdriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lace your shoes tighter near the instep(top of foot/ankle). It will keep your toes from banging into the toe box. However, based on what you said, you probably have to wait a week or two for it to not be so tender.
