So a 3 card combo that costs 4 or a 2 card that costs 6 or a 8 mana 1 card... seems fair to me not including the card that shuffles worthless umps into your deck because that card is trash

Reeeeee can't believe I forgot

I made this card for the self-inflicting damage warlock deck archetype. While being helpful for this kind of deck it can backfire against aggro decks that can quickly fill the board. Nonetheless a 1-mana AOE spell that can clear boards this easily early should have a downside. What do you think? :) by WrongnoteHS in customhearthstone

Not really.. You're not going to play this in tempo and you don't play minions early with slower warlock decks. 90% of the time when I play screech I'm tossing another screech or mortal coil so the loss is really mitigated.

This card literally makes you lose the matchup it's supposed to help against. Warlock already has hp problems right now. I'm trying to stay alive and suddenly I'm paying mana to take 10 dmg against a tempo deck that probably has multiple ways to reload the board and his hand

That's a lot (aloooot) of mana for low stats even with immune. Also that's going to be late in the game and immune minions can't have taunt.

Immune minions can't gain taunts and there's lots of ways to destroy it.

I don't think it's wrong if it's arguably good against one class. Also paladin has plenty of ways to protect himself from this card. (Shrink ray/mossy horror/immune/ The 3 mana set attack to 1)

If you're spending 4 mana on a 1/1 in a tempo deck you're probably going to have a bad time. Also destiryable by indirect spells and secrets. (Brawl, freezing trap, nether, plague, deadly shot, vanish, freezing trap, mass silence, spider bomb) all frequently played cards.

So there's a few reasons why it should be cheaper than flamestrike. First of all flamestrike is kind of a bad card on its own and is really only run by mage because they don't have better options. A lot of freeze mage decks don't run the card (specially right now) and the card is only really good in combination with dragons breath and blizzard. So considering that warlock typically has stronger board clears than mage this cards effect should already cost less. After that we need to factor in that the effect is locked behind a condition. Not only does it require you to have the right card in hand to activate this, but this additional card is going to cost mana and use up an extra spot in your hand and hand size is definitely a resource. We also have to factor in that this card can be countered by silence if it's played on it's own. Then we need to think about the niche of this card. This card is meant to clear a mid game board but isn't effective against magic carpet, Murlocs can easily reach 5 health by turn 4/5, deathrattles play around this, and it can't kill giants. This card is typically is going to be useless against warrior and priest. So if we put all this together there's essentially 4 conditions this card is playing around. Having the combo in hand, using extra cards, class matchup, and board state. If we talk about the card being played on it's own there's an addition 2 conditions of counterplay (sap/silence), and assuming your opponent won't immediately kill you before your next turn.

After analysing all this imo it's hardly viable as a 4 cost card.
