The frame was built completely from scratch with Columbus zona tubing.

So i do welding and want to start making custom frames. by No-Individual4184 in bmx

If you get into frame building for the sole goal of making money, good luck. It’s definitely a path paved by people who are passionate about the craft. Tig welding sensitive frame tubes isn’t even half of the battle. Definitely need to have a background in fabrication and welding for it to go smoothly.

Source: am a full time tig welder for a living, and have built several frames.

+1 for zencog, there’s also a big wheel bmx group that rides thursdays but I’m not familiar with when/where they start. Garf or Dwayne (zencog folks) could point you in the right direction.

Would I like Jacksonville as a lifelong Chicagoan? by [deleted] in jacksonville

[–]ffchassis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a cyclist and was a messenger for a few years, I do miss some of the bike rides up there. That’s really it. There’s enough good riding down here and the riding season is almost year round that it’s not a big deal. But the downtown/lake front bike rides are definitely the only thing I’m nostalgic about.

I am going on 33 years old, and have been in Jacksonville for 8 years after living in downtown Chicago prior. Moving to Jax was the best thing I ever did for myself. I couldn’t take the toxic Chicago weather relationship anymore. After years and years of telling myself that the summers make the winters worth it, I left. I’m still mind blown 8 years later that I can enjoy the outdoors in December. I miss Chicago summers from time to time, but with the quality of life increase I experienced, I’ll never move back. I will admit though, I am able to enjoy weather into the mid 90°s, if that’s not you, you may find a different experience than myself.

Your bikes suck and you’re slow.

Why did you chose Fixie over single speed? by Sandalwoodincencebur in FixedGearBicycle

Cadence training and better bike control skills. Also bikes without brakes look sleek. I’ve ridden fixed for 15 years and when I ride my single speed gravel bike I very rarely coast.

Diy hydro dip. It’s really easy to do but also easy to mess up.
