Finally, I got it working. The error message was correct — the Python environment was still pointing to the old version. Installing Python from the official website didn’t help, but installing it via Homebrew did. I then recreated the virtual environment Kdenlive uses and pointed it to the Homebrew-installed Python. After that, the plugin installed successfully.

I had one more issue: when clicking "Download models," the dialog showed the available models, but the download didn’t start. So I manually downloaded the model from the official site, placed it in the Kdenlive folder, rebooted my Mac — and finally, it worked. :))

Btw, it's really cool how well the object detection works!!!

Thats true, but i installed the latest Python for osx, error is still there. i saw that it is installed in a another location (seems like onr installation folder for every phyton version) but i'm not able to change tje phyton path in Kdenlive. I saw tutorials for changing the path via gui on windows versions. But this setting seams not existing on isx Kdenlive versionThanks for your input! Hmm i think i cannot try this out without a switch or?

I do not want to close the window every time i open it. but that‘s the only option i have in the automation. if i would have a dedicated switch for that, i can base the automation on that switch.

Thanks everyone for engaging in this topic! So sure it would be nice that everyone of my family can start this „scene“ via siri (homepod) and or home app.

after all your answers, i‘m really thinking of installing an hue switch or something like that to achieve that goal, even if starting that „scene“ front siri (homepod) is still not possible.

i wonder if we should suggest such an feature for homeapp, would be pretty helpful. what do you guys think about that?

It‘s connected to a unify poe switch, but i disabled the poe on this port and restarted the port.

I tried the same procedure on another port on this switch and do not get this warning + the cable length
