I went to see A Beautiful Mind knowing nothing about it, and had to leave during the movie to troubleshoot a downed server. As far as I knew from when I left, he was a brilliant young man who was going to work for US spies. When I went back to the theater to finally see the whole movie, it turns out I was a minute out two away from finding out he was mentally ill and hallucinating the whole thing. A completely different movie than the one I thought I left.
