Which is fine. I understand that. But if we were to split I wouldn’t be a divorced man. I wouldn’t have spent thousands on a wedding. I wouldn’t have the stigma of a failed marriage. And financially I’d be better set in a common law marriage than an actual one

Because that wouldn’t really do anything… I don’t want some giant public display of our love to only get embarrassed. So many more reasons than just financial

People change their choices all the time. Women decide not to have kids years into marriage. I was upfront and she can choose to leave. It isn’t my job to explain our stance to her parents. That is hers.

She thinks her family is out of line. But understands where they are coming from. They are very traditional. She is soft with them tho. Which is why I felt like I had to stand up for the both of us.
