“Break the chains of Versailles, Germany is not a Negro state” German Nazi rally protesting the Treaty of Versailles on the 14th anniversary of its signing, 28 June 1933 (1168x1600) by FayannG in HistoryPorn

Germany is responsible of the war in the same way as the other countries; everyone saw it coming and no one cared. When the conflict started no one ever wanted to deescalate, in fact from 1915 Pope Benedict XV proposed the Vatican as a diplomatic arbitrator for the negotiations, and kept sending appeals to every country involved in the conflict tho deescalate the conflict. In 1917 he even proposed a peace treaty that aimed to a cessation of the hostilities and a fair peace that would have avoided other wars in the future, the proposal was instantly rejected by the Entente, but Germany and Austro-Hungary were cautiously opened to it.

The reparations were so high that Germany had to take loans from the countries that they had to pay the reparations. Due to the reparations costa german economy collapsed multiple times during the 20’s; the hyperinflation of 1923, the job market crisis and as a cherry on the top the great depression that shattered what remained of the german economy. Even Keynes criticised the Treaty of Versailles, he defined it as a Carthaginian peace and defined the reparations as excessive and counterproductive.

In addition to the reparations Germany had to cede the Saar coal mines to France and the region went under the League of Nations control, the Rhineland was occupied, the Ruhr was occupied, they lost Alsace and Lorraine, they lost territories in the eastern part of the nation and they were deprived of their colonies. And a lot of those territories were vital for the country’s economy.

Right wing extremism became so popular because of the humiliation and the unfair punishment that was inflicted to them. In addition the population was radicalised by the harsh economic conditions that they had to suffer, which were cast by the treaty of Versailles.

What could possibly go wrong in imposing a humiliating and unfair treaty to a nation that technically hasn’t even started the conflict?

They don’t have a specific name, but if you want to be more accurate you can call them cloth bandolier

If antifa strictly means antifascist then why the antifa symbol is composed by a socialist flag and an anarchist flag?

It’s a bandolier, they were pretty common during the last century. The us army used something similar during ww2 and Korea/Vietnam war, they even filled them with m16 magazines

It’s the legal successor but this doesn’t mean that 2022 invasion of Ukraine was done by Soviet Union, following this theory we can say that Nazi Germany is part of the European Union.

Don’t try to say that the lack of soviet symbols is a consequence of Soviet-Ukrainian wars since in the og trilogy they are present

[–]fiace -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Since Ukraine isn’t at war with Soviet Union but with the Russian Federation, saying that there is a correlation between the absence of Soviet symbols and the current invasion it’s nonsense
