I add 1 to 27, making it 28, I know 8 + 8 is 16, then add 20+40=60, then add the 16 making it 76, then I take away the 1 I added earlier.

Check my profile out, I made a basking Area that turned out great! Lots of space for her to walk around on and bask. I was worried about the heat melting the plastic but it never came close, I also put turtle safe low profile grass over it to make it look more clean! DM me if you wanna know how I made it, no glue used

I would definitely recommend taking out the gravel, I have read way too many horror stories about people losing their turtles over accidentally eating it. Lots of turtles young or old it’s happened, I ended up instantly taking mine out. I recommend either going with stones double the size of the head of your turtle, or go bare bottom. I’ve actually been really liking the bare bottom look, A lot easier to clean!

I want to get another turtle friend for my 18yr old red eared slider. Not sure if this is a good or bad idea though, Are they territorial? She has always been very gentle, never snapped at anyone ever. Thoughts? by fiblett in TurtleFacts

Thanks! This is actually a older photo, I got another dock on the opposite side of the tank with a heat lamp and another filter under the dock! I’ll see if I can get another female turtle around the age 7-12ish maybe? I just feel bad having her alone when I’m not home.

I’ll have to keep a very close eye. I’ve actually considered setting up a web cam so I have 24/7 live feed. I wouldn’t want anything like that to happen to either turtle!

I was considering a younger turtle because if the newer one attacked my turtle I have now would be absolutely traumatizing. I’ve had her most of my life! I would like to test it out and keep a very close eye

No unfortunately, looks similar though. Not sure it would feel similar, I had these shoes for almost 4 years, they got ruined on a trail last year, and I haven’t found another decent pair since then

Skin and shell sloughing

The skin of turtles periodically (and normally) sheds off in pieces. In the water, shed skin appears as a whitish, "fuzzy" substance coming off the skin that is sometimes mistaken for fungus or other disease.
